From my understanding the cottages would be rented for the summer or part of it together out of the city for a short time. There used to be allot of these cottages scattered in areas for families to have activities etc. I guess people stopped using them years ago, too bad interesting. You have no heaters so they woul not make the best area in the cold. Be safe!

This is actually not Delaware's first or only amusement park. Delaware had Brandywine Springs Amusement park in the early 1900's. There was a fire in the park, and most of the attractions were destroyed and would cost more to repair than the payout was. The park closed, and only pillars or the rides and buildings are still there.

Jay, next abandon airport you film record the N numbers then check the registry to get type of plane and last owner and when the registry expired. Then add this information.

Interesting video, thanks. We have a small chain of stores here in SW England called Trago Mills. Trago Mills also used to buy up stock from other stores that were closing down, to sell on at much reduced prices. However in recent years, they've gotten more expensive than other discount retailers.

As soon as I saw the homeless setup, I'd probably head out. It's interesting how places like Big Lots is downsizing and closing stores. While Ollie's is opening up new stores throughout the US. They just opened one in my town and it's doing well. It's right down the road from a Big Lots that's been struggling for years. I think it kind of boils down to the quality of the product they sell and how they market themselves with catchy slogans and well kept stores.

That last Cessna you showed (the red and black 172) is my Grandfathers Cessna 172G. It still runs, but hasn’t been flown since 2018. I grew up flying out of this airport, and have a lot of great memories from it.

Abandoned isn’t really correct. They still are registered and titled to someone. I had a friend that bought and restored a small grass strip in western Detroit. THe hangers all had airplanes in them. Most hadn’t paid hangar rent in decades. Thousands of dollars. Took an army of lawyers and the FAA to track down the owners of record and then get rid of them. Owners or family members wouldn’t even answer the certified letter. More than a few forgot they even owned an airplane. IT had been that long since they’d been out to the field. That’s why these airplanes are all rotting in a field.

God i hate vandals so much. how do people find enjoyment in that shit? it's like how in my small town harrogate we had a manor owned by a lord & lady, it was an iconic piece of history with the old furniture & items still inside, you can imagine how it looks now. it's completely destroyed. 🕳🚶♀️ i'll never get over it.
@journeywithjay2 ай бұрын
Exactly what's the point
@Steverinomeister2 ай бұрын
The engines are incredibly expensive to rebuild and most likely exceeded the value of the plane. I checked the N number and they were deregistered as far back as the 1980’s although one lasted until 2014.
