We found our greatest treasure on Thanksgiving! Hubby remembered a road he wanted to explore on an old map. The road was named for a ranch. I had just put the turkey in the oven, and it needed to cook for a few hours, so we loaded into the truck and headed off on adventure. We were looking to buy a piece of property where we could plant some apple trees!. We found the ranch, down a long dirt road. Vacant and abandoned, apparently for many years. It had a beautiful pond, outbuildings, a house and outbuildings, and a magnificent apple orchard with huge old trees, loaded with apples! I tracked down the absentee owners and we spent the next two years talking the owners into selling it to us. In May, we will celebrate 25 years of owning the ranch! So I know what the burning question is…yes, the turkey was too dry. But we choked it down anyway! And the ranch? Stetson Creek Ranch, in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California! The apple orchard was planted in 1912, and those magnificent trees still produce huge amounts of heirloom apples. We open the orchard for you-pick apples every year that we have a crop, or like this year, we were evacuated for a fire. We still honor the history of the family that homesteaded the property and planted the orchard. And those trees are a still living legacy to them.

The first thing you picked up off the car hood looks like part of a nut cracker set. For picking the meat from the shell.

Can someone take the old Spanish trail from Nm to California on horseback? The whole way in modern day? It would be cool to take the same journey as forepeople did..

Use mesquite wood my friend that grease wood tastes nasty! No need to scrape just roast em! Those glowchids suck (fine little stickers) the fruit is called tuna. No bullshit.🤣🇺🇸

Pack rats piss me off! They ruin everything. 30 caliber Winchester centerfire cartridge that wire staple was too small for Barbwire. It was probably for chicken wire chicken coop near by fresh eggs in the morning. Oh yeah oh yeah. Nut pic came as a set two or four nut picks one or two nutcrackers that snap just look like a quick snap probably for a cheap breast collar for your horse. A good place to look for bottles is the old shitters. Outhouses. Standstill for a minute figure out which direction the prevailing wind is from. Go to the house footer and to the downwind side look for depressions and or humps of dirt, that may indicate, the old one or two Holer. There should be at least two or three around there if that place is that old, you know they fill up they have to move them and usually it’s downwind they’re good place to throw your old whiskey bottles so your wife won’t find them you sure as hell won’t catch her out there rooting around in the shit. I found a nice half pint pumpkin seed wiskey bottle in the old out house depression by a butterfield spur route stop about 100 yards from my place. Not a chip or crack in it. Happy hunting bro. Ya better wear some boots my friend. Rattlers are out year round most of the time your city shoes offer damn little protection by the looks of them. Happy trails, R.

I would love to walk a pattern of increasing-in-size circles around that Arrastra with a metal detector. It would have made a great reference point for the Spanish to bury valuables nearby. I'd concentrate on line of site to major visible geographical features that the Spanish could have used to point in the direction of their cache to which they would then have no doubt paced-off the distance to using their normal marching gate.

The miners removed the flat rocks to get the gold that had fallen between the stones before they left. It looked like an indian pithouse until you showed us the drag stone. Nice video thanks for sharing it with the public.
