@eric_montagАй бұрын
I would say the opposite of perfectionism is self compassion/self love and acceptance. It's realizing you're always whole and there's no shame or guilt that you need to carry.

This is a great video! Gave me something to think about thank you. Example, when I’ve looked at baby/child photos of myself I don’t see the person that I disliked when I was an abused baby/child. I’m not beating that part of myself up for being funny looking or abused. Now I look, I laugh at the fun kid that was captured in a photo. In time I imagine this just keeps going and growing as we age with grace.

@@TheBayAreaBackyardsBee totally. For me, part of it involves releasing judgment on what may have happened in the past. And looking at it too, just like you’re saying. It’s impossible to bury it and then just move on with life. But when you notice you become more gentle with yourself and you look at your younger self with love and laughter, recognizing the innocence, the perfection in the imperfections, that’s such an amazing thing. It’s healing, it’s peace, it’s acceptance. Thank you for sharing. 🥰

we're all part of god's creation and so we all have value. some don't know. what we focus on can lead us down a good or bad path. the people seeking validation are the ones who don't know they have intrinsic value. that's why they're always trying to prove something. in reality there's no need for them to prove anything but they do need to learn what they are and how to survive.

Hey there! Your insights are phenomenal, and you really know how to break things down. 🙌 I’m definitely going to follow your advice and see how it transforms my perspective. I’m curious, how do you suggest we start shifting away from the limiting stories we tell ourselves and others? Thank you so much for responding to my previous comment! Your advice has been incredibly useful. You’ve truly changed my life, and I’d love to share my story with you-I've sent you a DM on KZbin, using the same picture here. I’m also interested in learning more about your coaching services. Could you let me know the best way to get more details? Thanks again for everything!
@eric_montagАй бұрын
Hi Rahof! For some reason I can't find or didn't get your DM. You can email me directly at: [email protected]. Let's chat! In terms of shifting away from stories, after you identify one (usually a limiting story involves telling yourself something like "I always do this" or "I can't" or "I'll never" or "I'm this way because X, Y, Z") you can actually re-write it. Just write down something limiting you tell yourself and then write the opposite. Maybe you state "You're not good dealing with people"... then write, say out loud or repeat in your mind "I'm GREAT dealing with people". Another way to shift away is to start looking at the evidence... a lot of the times we focus on negative outcomes, but there are PLENTY of positive outcomes that we simply choose to overlook. Let's give the positive outcomes more energy and focus. :)

I love just asking a friend and getting the news that way. That's such a great tip. That would help me because then it would keep me from getting sucked into more and more news stories lol maybe the trick is to have them tell you the news in the form of a bedtime story - I'd be out like a light 🤣

@@eric_montagwhat a great idea! We should make a bedtime story ap - maybe it actually finds a real live friend with a real nice voice to tell a sweet & sleepy bedtime story. I’ve been married I’m no expert at it nonetheless I’m experienced in the dept. LOL 😂 . That being said when I’m in a relationship I seem to behave better. I sleep better, eat better, etc. just overall better health. I do wonder if it’s the oxytocin at work, is it because a sense of feeling safe, a good feeling taking care of someone else or the combinations of all. As for yesterday’s question you asked me now I’d love to hear your thoughts on feelings, attachments, & what defines a healthy relationship. Are there “healthy relationships”? Maybe this is due to actually taking better self care, being cared for, caring for someone else, oxytocin, or a great combination of distractions? Us being here is proof enough that things can happen without a conscious observer. Otherwise, all the things that existed before anything was alive wouldn't have happened. You could counter that point by simply saying "Well there was a creator" Then I would ask: Where does it come from? As long as things happen, time exists because movement and change can't happen without time, so something had to exist before the creator for the creator to be able to exist.
@eric_montag4 ай бұрын
I would actually say that consciousness is in everything and that consciousness exists on a spectrum much like everything else. For example, after the beginning of the universe for atoms to combine into molecules there has to be a baseline awareness or attraction to form. That attraction, that pull, that awareness, can also be called consciousness. Consciousness is a fractal - the Mandelbrot Set. ❤ so for anything to form there has to be an awareness to form into something. So something always exists. 🎉
@haku11554 ай бұрын
@@eric_montag Well, I'd call that natural forces. Strong Force, Weak Force, Electromagnetic Force and Gravitational Force. I wouldn't necessarily call it aware or conscious, because that wording assumes intent, when for all we know its just how everything works. They are the four most basic rules that keep things together.
@eric_montag4 ай бұрын

Also check out Donald Hoffman's theories on Conscious Agents. You can just search for it via Google and download the paper. These are cutting edge theories that are venturing to show that there IS indeed more outside of space and time and that consciousness is fundamental. My thoughts: yes a bear def poos in the woods. If a tree falls it definitely creates vibrations in air molecules that, if something that is around that can experience hearing, will hear a sound. If nothing is around that can hear, no sound will be heard. But there are still vibrations that ripple through the air. 😁
