im pretty sure that at 4:51 he places the pea into a hole inside of the walnut since you could kinda tell he had been switching it between hands and possibly his pocket, i could be wrong, anyone else see a different way though?

My guess is it would be easy for a magician to palm a little rattle and bean while also holding an empty walnut and shaking it to give the effect that the bean is inside. And would be easy enough to slip a bean underneath the scarf next to the walnut, and then just crack the walnut with the bead sitting in the pile of debris. Why else would you need a handkerchief unless to conceal that there was already the bean next to the walnut. If bean was actually in the walnut, you could just put the walnut on the table and not conceal it when you smash it with the glass. Trick was well performed…

Always a fun one when you are lulled into a sense of knowing whats going on to have it thrown out with the last part, especially with the first switch practically being telegraphed from a mile away.

If the pea really is in the shell, he could get one of P&T (or even the MC) to crack it open and reveal the pea.

If the pea is actually in the walnut shell, he should make that much more obvious.

So simple and sometimes simple is enough to fool everyone WOW loved it

I've been going back and watching some of the clips from this show on the various magicians' channels for a bit now. Motivated by a combination of boredom and nostalgia, I guess. A few of them really stick with me, and this is one of them. I know I'm very late to this comment section, but I've come back and rewatched this video probably 10 or more time in the last month. For whatever it's worth, I'd like to share an observation. For whatever reason, many magicians come on to that stage with some variation of what may as well be the cups and balls, and the conversation at the end is always the same. "Sorry, but this is THE trick we're most familiar with out of any of them. You didn't fool us; better luck next time." Paul Gertner tried twice, even. And while his version with the metal balls also stands out as a favorite performance, he couldn't get them with cups and balls, either. One of the things that often appears in the presentation when talking about that trick is how it originates in this very shell game. Their attempt at busting you even started the same way as all those others. As far as I've seen, out all the people that tried, you're the only person who went onto Fool Us and actually got the trophy with the damn cups and balls. I'm only a spectator when it comes to magic, but that strikes me as a damn impressive accolade. Good on you.

Just look at how long his left hand was under the table, while he put the pea in the shell ( shell in two with some sticky stuff on edge). You then see him put the shell under the cup.

I get that there are peas under all 3 shells, but I don’t know how he got peas under 2 shells.

He pulled the pea out before he put the shell under the shotglass and then when he gets the wallet he slides it into a hole in the walnut. Next while he is lifting the shot glass and the shell he is slipping the walnut under the cup. Since there is a hole in the walnut he makes sure to hold it very specifically until it is not visible under the napkin. ggez

The 2nd pick for the audience, you could see him flinging it across the table under the other cover. So would've guessed correctly even if he didn't put a marker on it.

i was following every move, including when he loaded the pea on the metal cup. The problem is that i WAS NOT expecting the pea inside the walnut, i completely missed that move, its a very very good trick!

Fun act, but peas are so tiny that it's not really impressive to hide one.

he never put pea under the shell rather slide it from the table with glass because shell was placed so close to bottom edge. someone under the table cloth put the pea in two shells and join them with some super glue. then he simply slide the so called walnut under the steel glass while placing it down on the table again placed far away down from the glass and walnut those are focused at that time
