Basic 38 year old dude here. Been a Nintendo fan my whole life with Metroid & Zelda being my favorite franchises ever. This video was great, you did a fantastic job. I liked and subbed. Hope you get to try all the others!

I think, unfortunately, the backtracking being changed would mean crucifixion for the team. They KNEW if they changed anything from the environment, it would be the end of them and Nintendo. The team couldn't touch the map, then lore, and the music. No matter how much new players would have preferred it, it wouldn't have matter if the core fanbase didn't like it. And remember metroid is still alive through sheer fan dedication. It's a small fanbase, but one that loves the series. Just look at Other M. A game that anyone else would have enjoyed, but hated by the fanbase... so much, many refuse to call it a Metroid game. So, while you maybe be right that the could've improved, it's not the fault of the developers, but of the expectations put on by fans.

Still watching the video but I really do like it a lot. I'd love to hear your take on a lot of the other Persona tracks. Have you considered checking out the Persona Q OSTs? As they’re crossovers between 3/4/5, the musical styles of each entry gets blended to the point where you might hear Persona 4's poppy style before Lotus Juice drops some Persona 3 beats. Or have Lyn deliver a high octane Persona 5 style track before Yumi adds her own spin. I think it'd be a fun set of songs to look into. I specifically recommend Maze of Life, Light the Fire Up in the Night (which has a P3 and P4 "side"), and Road Less Taken. As for Yumi, it wasn't that she was old, it was more that she was struggling to hit some of those notes now. She was doing stuff for Persona into 2017 still. But there are lot of Persona 3 tracks with energy she struggled to hit. I recommend checking out the Persona 20th anniversary concert, specifically the Kimi no Kokou (Memories of You) version. You can hear her struggle to hit some of the notes. I think the fear was that she just wouldn't be able to deliver the same punch. So instead of reusing her, or trying to 1 to 1 capture the style with a new vocalist, they did a minor spin on the original style with a new vocalist.

I'd love to see another deep dive analysis / comparison! It's cool seeing you get into the nitty gritty of both songs and give both their fair shake of pros and cons! As for which is better? I have to give it to the OG. The production in particular is what edges it out: it's scrappier, punchier, and the hook hits harder. Though I will say, I do appreciate how Reload's version has the second verse from Lotus Juice (it's probably the best verse ever done for Mass Destruction) and I do like how better mixed he is in Reload (he's so much clearer and present). Honestly in general, I appreciate that Reload gives Lotus Juice more love and attention period (especially on stuff like Color Your Night and It's Going Down Now)

Great video but there's no way you put the ps5 over the ps3. When it comes to how varied their exclusives library is and the actual exclusivity of their games, the ps3 wins hands down. It was the experimental era of PS. The move controllers, the camera, hell some game even required a physical board to play. Their traditional games covered so many genres too. I was a huge fan of the ps4 library until I realised that the ps4's success is probably what caused the ps5 library to be so monocultured and homogenised. They found their niche and are sticking to it and in the process leaving their legacy behind. And that's me giving them the benefit of the doubt as it seems in 2023 and 2024 they are happy to sit back and sell consoles just off the fact that the ps5 is the 'default' console.

ps3 being bleh is blasphemy. the fact that you can store media locally on your ps3 makes it a much better entertainment system. i have countless shows, movies, albums, not to mention all the ps2 classics and goated ps3 games like mgs4 on my ps3 and its the main play station everyone uses in the living room

Loved the list also here some 10 indie games that i recommend playing in my opinion that wasn't on the list ( ps not in order) 10 undertale, 9 omori, 8 bug fable, stardew valley, 7 cult of the lamb, 6 moonlighter, 5 untitled goose game 4 a hat in time, 3 baba ia you 2 night in the woods 1 cave story Also i notice there was no games in nah tier so here 5 game I would put in the nah tier also think of this as a i do not recommend playing in my opinion ( reasons because of factors like dull to terrible story and writing ugly visuals bland to unlikeable characters bad game design elements bugs and glitchs and controversys behind the game ) 5 mighty no 9 4 enchanted portal 3 hello neighbor 2 yiik a poat modern rpg 1 yandere simulator ( ps this deserves to go to the void for obvious reasons )
