1. Cycle from Incheon to Busan. See the real, rural, non-glutzy-Seoul Korea.

I would encourage travelers to set their sights outside of Seoul too, and counter the stranglehold that it has on the country. Believe it or not, there is life outside of the capital city. You've been to Seoul? Have you been to Gwangju, Busan, Mokpo, etc.?

Hi Amy, this was such an informative video! Thank for all the pro tips. It really helps to hear from someone who has done it all and that too recently because things seem to have changed so much the last few years. Can I ask how you found a hostel to stay at-through goshipages? Also, would you recommend booking an airbnb instead? Do you think a week instead of two weeks would be enough time to look around and book a place?
@AdventuresofAwkwardAmy7 күн бұрын
goshiwons are definitely not for everyone, so i would recommend airbnbs if you like having more space. Goshipages is just for goshiwons, hostelworld and booking.com are good resources for booking hostels. If youre looking for a goshiwon, i think a week is plenty of time as long as you use your time wisely. I toured places for two days before moving in on the third so the process is pretty quick

heyy ,what are the best and accurate apps you could recommend to learn korean language/translator?
@AdventuresofAwkwardAmy8 күн бұрын
i like using papago as a translator (google translator is fine too if you dont want to download yet another app haha) as for learning the language, honestly i dont have a good rec. i used duolingo for a while but i honestly learned better with immersive experience

I'm thinking of just going to Shizhou and Fenqihu for one night and then heading to Sun Moon Lake, skipping Alishan Park competely. Am I crazy? We are combining this trip with Japan where we will also see old growth forests, and the sunrise also seems to be a crapshoot. Plus my partner gets really motion sick and no remedies work so she'll also be miserable going up there and back.
@AdventuresofAwkwardAmy13 күн бұрын
If you dont think it’s for you, dont do it haha i personally thought Fengqihu was anticlimactic, but wish i had more time to explore Shizhou.
@kevlarcardhouse25213 күн бұрын
@@AdventuresofAwkwardAmy I'm now thinking of renting a car, so we can spend the night in Shizhou, and then we can decide if we want to go up to Alishan the next day. What about Fenqihu turned you off? It just felt like a village for tourists? Love watching your vlogs because it brings back memories. (The first time I went to Taiwan and Japan I was your age and it was my first major solo travel trip.)
@AdventuresofAwkwardAmy12 күн бұрын
@kevlarcardhouse252 to be fair, i didn’t venture a lot in Fenqihu. I stayed mostly in the train station area and old streets. There were just a lot of people and shops targeted at tourists so it felt like too much haha

I completely understand. Some songs really hit home hard. Please know that you, Amy, are a W, not an L. A beautiful life is full of hardships, but the end result is worth it. And those who really cherish you are there with you during the good and, especially, during the bad times. Thank you for sharing your honest self. It's more inspiring than any number of videos full of attention grabbing fluff. It's easy to see that you find joy in your chosen path. And here, we're lucky enough to get to share that joy with you. ☺️ Chin up, Amy. 파이팅!

One thing I forgot to mention in the video for solo travelers - leaving your itinerary more free in the latter days is nice because if you make friends at the hostel or during one of the tours, then you have more flexibility to make last minute plans to hang out with them! 😊 if you liked this video, please consider supporting me so i can make more travel videos like this one! linktw.in/zdpGUa
