Thanks for the insight in to SIMRAD. Ive have Simrad sounder in my Barra boat up here in the NT for quite sometime as I wanted more clarity over everything else. I Purchase a couple of years back a Simrad Evo 3 16 inch to upgrade the old Evo 2. With EXTRA WARRENTY. I would put in in my car religiously during travel given what they cost then fit it to the boat at the ramp. 12 months before the warranty ran out , it had something rattling around in the Sounder housing so took it back in to the place of purchase. I had a call from the place of purchase, and there reply to me was that NAVIONCS DO NOT REPAIR SOUNDERS UNDER WARRENTY BUT OFFER A REPLACEMENT AT A FEE ! That Fee is $4000 dollars ! THIS IS NOT WARRENTY ! Future Purchases be aware as NAVIONICS WILL RIP YOU OFF IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG WITH YOUR SOUNDER UNDER WARRENTY AND NOT REPAIR IT BUT OFFER YOU A NEW ONE WITH MONEY FROM YOUR POCKET ! That's FACT plain and simple from here in the NT and I will NEVER EVER purchase anothor Sounder from Lowrance or Simrad who Manufacture these two sounders to be ripped off like this. Food for thought for Anyone watching and absolutely nothing against your video mate, BUT this is the full truth of what they are doing to Customers buying Sounders from them so every one is Clear before looking at a Purchase.

Looking good mate. Yeah I feel like the setback will help the blow out. You may end up at the same height as you are at now. with a few inches set back it's like going down a hole in height.
@justyouraveragefishos
@justyouraveragefishos 5 ай бұрын
Yes an 8 inch setback needs to be offset with 1.5 inches of additional lift. The benefit is not only the clearer water and tight height, but also brining the nose down a touch.

fast jigging use spinning rod ( better action : you can use the motion of the rod up and down to reel and that will make your jig slide perfectly + reaching the bottom quicker then over heads + gear ratio doesnt mean higher line retrieve what means that is in per turn so over heads have higher gear ratio but not higher line retrieve then spinning real except when you have large spool + fun : spinning reels are more fun fighting the fish not like you will use your rod to pump and then real of the slack with your spinner + drag : spinning real drag is mostly far more better then over heads) . slow jigging use over head ( better action : the main thing in slow jigging is slow sinking opposite of fast jigging and thats easily achievable with over heads because you can control the tension of your free spool giving that neat slow sink flutter + fighting the fish: its easier to fight a fish with over heads because you cant pump that far most of slow rods are not designed to fight fish but they are meant for slow jig action meaning you are going to fight the fish with the reel and thats actually good if you are tired or you need to get the fish up as quick as you can and you dont need drag that much + more line using over head means you can pack more line then spinner and that very good if you want to do deep sea fishing up to 500m and more + durability over heads can take more load then spinning reels and have less stuff to break) . over all you choose what you like you can use both of both its your call . and when it comes to jigs : fast jigs are symmetrical doesnt matter if its a butterfly or knife jig as long as both sides are symmetrical which make them move faster and feel lighter in the water but it takes hell of moving them fast to make the action work (depending on there design even in fast jigging some jigs are slower then others) . slow jigs are not symmetrical doesnt matter if its long short fast skinny if it doesnt have the same curves and lines in both sides its not symmetrical aka its a slow jig and its easier to work then fast ones because of the slow lifts and retrieves(depending on there design even in slow jigging some jigs are faster then others). both are good and effective fast jigs when your chasing fast fish or when the fish are active slow jigs the opposite .

Hi. I have just received my new boat with 2 x 9” EVO 3S MFDs networked via NMEA 2K. I have the 3/1 Ducer and TM275LHW Ducer installed. My plan is to eventually head out offshore, but for now just learning how to use the setup in PPB. What chirp range is best for PPB with the 275 Ducer? How to ensure I have defined properly both ducers on the networked setup? I have horizontal lines showing up on the MFD for the 275 Ducer screen when at rest but ok when underway. Possible causes of this? Cameron

Is the flush port just as good or not because it dosnt open the thermostat
@justyouraveragefishos
@justyouraveragefishos 3 жыл бұрын
@@ktmdays the fish port works fine and is designed by Yamaha to flush the whole system despite everyone thinking it’s no good because the thermostat is closed. If you run on muffs you risk melting the plastic impeller housing as not enough heat is taken away from the gearbox. Running on cold tap water prevents the thermostat opening so I use the flush port most times and then if it hasn’t had a run for a while I use the bag.

For depths 30-50 meters, is good jigs 80-100 gramms?
@justyouraveragefishos

Depending on current rate really. General rule of thumb is 1-2 grams per meter of depth but in high current you will need lots more.
