Watching this 20 years later and currently arriva bus drivers have been on strike 19 days straight and train staff are striking every other day. The railways have been run into the ground for years.

Double shuffle is basic bitch stuff. They still use the same barriers today and they are still as easy to get through without paying towards a billionaires investment portfolio: take a newspaper, follow someone up to the barrier, as they go through put the paper over the small black square sensor (it's fairly easy to see), as long as the paper covers it while the barriers are open and before they walk through it'll stay open the entire time that paper is over it.
