@@MrBrnrdy Amazing! I’ve never seen a living fox (moving around, not a drawing or photo), and somehow I pictured them way smaller. Your helper looked coyote-sized with really long legs. So cool! Thanks for including your interactions in the vid. Made me smile. And your hot tub deck project came together so well. Hope you’ve been enjoying it out there! 🛁

@9:46 Wife looks like she's over with it already. How did it work out? any issues with it rubbing against the wood sides?
@MrBrnrdy7 ай бұрын
😅😅. No issues with rubbing, once the tub is full and inflated, it doesn't move much. One fault is with having it elevated off the ground, I probably underestimated the sheer weight of the water when full. The plywood has dipped in between each frame slightly. It doesn't affect it much overall, but if I were to change something, I would reinforce the base. Of course, most people would probably be able to leave the tub on the ground and build the frame around it. I only elevated mine to take advantage of the extra space on top of the wall in our garden.

What was the deck base's final dimensions? Looking to make one for mine this weekend :)
@MrBrnrdy Жыл бұрын
Off the top of my head it was 2.5 metres × 2.5 metres (approx 8ft × 8ft). I checked what lengths the ship lap cladding came in and built the frame to a size that would maximise the cladding without any waste.

Hi, what wire did you use to weld on the beer keg? Could I use an arc welder with the standard rod that you weld mild steel? Cheers
@MrBrnrdy2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I used a fluxed core wire in a mig welder on this stove. As far as I know you could use an arc welder to do the job also. I am only a beginner level welder practising for fun though. Maybe someone with more welding experience could offer advice here?

what did you do with the sticker you took off the post in the engine room?
@MrBrnrdy2 жыл бұрын
I still have some bits from the ship in my shed, the intention is to make some sort of display, maybe a deep box frame with a picture of the ship and its name alongside the "souvenirs". I also have a rocker cover from a generator and a fire extinguisher that I thought would look good.
@simonsanigar35812 жыл бұрын
@@MrBrnrdy That seems like a good idea, i know sometimes people dont like others taking items but if your going to put a good use to them as you are then i think its a good thoughtful idea to remember the ship. do you have a facebook account so once you have done it you can share?
@MrBrnrdy2 жыл бұрын
I agree about taking things normally, but this being a ship stranded on rocks slowly disintegrating and polluting the ocean with debris I'd rather take it and put it to use. I'm on Facebook and Instagram as Ivan Stilwell. I'll probably do a video or post when I do eventually get around to doing it

Wot u nead to do this wot timber is neaded
@MrBrnrdy2 жыл бұрын
I used pressure treated timber which is specifically for outdoor use. I would recommend speaking to your supplier for best advice, I explained what I was planning to do and they recommend the best timber. The paneling I used is pressure treated ship lap, the timber frame is pressure treated 2 inch × 4 inch and timber decking boards for the floor. Underneath the hot tub is plywood sheeting, it needs to be thick and well supported to hold the weight of the water without flexing too much.

@MrBrnrdy2 жыл бұрын
Sounds good, I think 3 to 4 inches is about right to get it burning nicely. I originally done this with only one exhaust and it was choking up with smoke so I added a second and it worked much better.
