Question, the parking doesn’t seem connected to hun at all. Doesn’t seem as if it needs to be disassembled to change the hub?

Thank you for this video, I was worried about the axle coming out but this helped and I got it done and only lost a few drops of gear oil

Is it easier to replace the hub then just the bearings

A scotchbrite pad would work much better and faster.. No chance of scratching the metal or gouging it..

Is there a seal where the shaft goes through the axle? Or the oil could go straight out? I ask because I changed my hub due to leaking oil from axle and 10k km later is leaking again. Someone told could be the axle seal and not the hub..I wonder if there is a seal there..thanks

im in the midst of a rear brake job with new parking brake shoes.when i pull slack in the e-brake cable to hook it with the brake lever,the cable retracts.weird since it moves freely.what would cause this?

Just a quick note, next time you do one or if someone else does one you should remove the ABS wheel speed sensor first so you don't damage it. It's only 1 10mm bolt.

I know its 3 years late but you installed the brake shoe adjuster upside down also there's no need for a outer seal on the hub bearing

Great video! I may try this myself. Is it necessary to remove the e-brake assembly, or did you just want to clean it up?

the o-ring also helps the rotor not fall off when your changing a tire..
@elconejocl2 жыл бұрын
No, the brake caliper keep the rotor in place when you change a tire.

I did the hub assembly on my Jeep but now i realized it’s leaking differential oil from where the backplate meets the hub assembly. Any idea what it could be I know the bolts are on tight
@donors5553 жыл бұрын
Mine has the same problem. I think, maybe the o-ring is damaged while installation. Ir maybe the wheel hub is bad quality, and oil comes from seal.

After watching you tap the backing plate on i wondered if it would be easier to take the O-ring on the back off and reinstall it after I slipped the backing plate on. Easy Peasy and no hammering.

Hello, Can someone share experience - my WK have this problem too. I did changed rear wheel hub, because there was oil leak from seal. Now i drived more than 1.5 k kilometers, and oil leak is back now, from the same place. What could go wrong with new spare part?
@benmendoza51943 жыл бұрын
Hey did you figure out the leaking I just replaced mine a few days ago and it’s also leaking
@donors5553 жыл бұрын
@@benmendoza5194 no, i haven't. I think, maybe it is bad wheel hub. I will buy some new, and will install new one. Then will see.
@eea999 Жыл бұрын
Hi. Did you fix it? I have same issue. Changed the hub because o leaking oil than 10k km later is leaking againg. Someone told it could be axle seal not thw hub. Not sure. Thanks
