Thanks for a great video. During cold mornings my civic is struggling to start and require a few cranks. But no issue once temp is above 35 or 40. Battery is new, no issues with alternator. Does it mean starter needs to be replaced?

thanks! changing my PCV valve myself here on a 2004 Civic EX. got this info online.. 33 ft-lbs (seems to be spec) is a bit more than hand tight. also people have snapped their valves at this point so I think hand tight would work perfectly fine. that's what I did on my Altima and M37 anyways. As a comparison, the torque spec for the spark plugs is 18 ft-lbs, so PCV torque is nearly double that of spark plugs. Another way to look at it -- if you're applying force on a typical ratchet that you're grabbing 6-inches from the axis of revolution, 33 ft-lbs is 66 pounds of force at 6 inches.

Are young going in through the middle or from the driver's side? When I saw the oil filter I was like wow, I never knew it was so close to it. I thought it was on the driver's side really high, which I actually do this it is. It's right under the intake manifold or something. I would go mess with mine tomorrow if I could do it from the engine bay.

Destroyed the sway bar link bushing with the impact. you need to do a wrench and torx bit spring compressor tool one side was not set to compress. you are lucky the spring did not come apart in your face! Destroyed the piston finish on the new strut with the vise grips and it will tear the cylinder seal and wreck the new strut.

You did it completely wrong. The video should be 45mins long, 40 of which should be you struggling to get out 1 kinda difficult bolt while telling us your life story then cut to the radiator being out. In all honesty thank you very much for this video wish more people would put up straight to the point videos like this.

This video should be called "How to replace Bank 1 Sensor 1" because that is what he actually replaced. Bank 1 is the front of the engine and Bank 2 is the back of the engine. Sensor 1 is in front of the Cat and Sensor 2 is behind the cat. Since he is working in the engine bay this is sensor 1 and because it is in the front side it is bank 1.

Wrong Bank 2 sensor 1. Bank 1 is on the firewall
@jesse2035
@jesse2035 7 ай бұрын
@@brizzo8697 Any ASE mechanic will tell you that bank 1 is always closest to cylinder #1 which is in the front for this vehicle. In this engine orientation Bank 2 is in the back by the firewall. I can also confirm this information first hand because I cleared a P0151 code for "Bank 2 sensor 1" by replacing the O2 sensor in the back side near the firewall. If you don't believe me feel free to drive to any dealership and ask their ASE certified tech if sensor #1 is always nearest cylinder #1. They will verify this. Then you can pull up the "AllData" or equivalent service manual to verify the location of cylinder #1. Scotty Kilmer on youtube has several videos discussing this as well.

My 2012 civic at 148k miles started 'half cranking'. It did this for a while, I believed it was a bad battery, or bad connections at battery. Eventually it did not crank anymore. It was the starter going bad. This was a very helpful video.

I'm at 155k and have had the same issue. It's a hard issue to diagnose because it could be the battery, alternator, starter, or some kind of electrical issue in the wiring harness. I replaced the battery, then the alternator, with no fix yet. I'm replacing the starter today which hopefully is the real problem
