I love your videos mate. I am also obsessed with how I can improve my health and make the best use of my time. You reinforce the feeling that this is good, because I often times feel weird that I think of these things so much.

Really great video… funny, I was in the restaurant business for over 40 years and was a light social drinker. Now I’m retired and have completely quit alcohol of any type. I’m not opposed to it for others, but I see no benefit in it so I’m done for life… that said, sugar has had a grip on me my whole life. I’m in shape, work out, eat okay, but have never been able to shake sweets and sodas. You’re right about willpower not working. It doesn’t. And your point hit home with me. Retrain your brain on the negatives of it and seeing no benefit except an instant hit of joy you regret later… totally not worth it. So time for a life change and your vid is one more helping me towards my life goals. Thank you!

Thanks! This comment was 3 weeks ago, it only took 2 weeks for me to feel repulsed by sugar by retraining my thoughts to the negatives, so hopefully you've had similar results, but how is it going?
@richgibson18166 ай бұрын
Thanks for getting back to me. Was doing well and slipped. So many years of automatic buying and eating. Sugar is a powerful thing. Powerful in a really bad way. So I watch your video again, and start again. Looks like it’ll be a process for me. The good news is, even when I slipped, I ate a lot less, so now back to net zero. Thanks for checking in! Cheers

what is nothingness? is it darkness? emptiness? There can never really be nothing, thus why do humans create the word "nothing"? how did we even come up with this word? I would say that nothing is the exact opposite of something. but nothingness is created by the absence of something.... think about it this way, if you close both of your eyes, you see black, darkness. but now open both of your eyes for about 10 seconds and then only close one of them. The eye you closed doesn't see darkness, it quite literally sees nothing. as your other eye is the only one taking in information thus nothing is going into the other eye. so what is nothing? The absence of something... or maybe I'm wrong, idk what do you think?

Glad you uploaded but this makes zero sense. Just because life is matter based does not mean the meaning of life is to make sure matter exists. Very dumb.
@WhyIDefy2 жыл бұрын
You misunderstood the point. Whatever life is, if it doesn't exist, it can't have a purpose or meaning. Therefore the ultimate meaning has to be to first exist, because without that, no other meaning can exist either.

Just discovered this channel this week and you inspired the hell out of me, thank you. I've always been scatter-brained and never really got anything off the ground because I couldn't "choose" and stick to anything for very long (besides PC gaming and Music). Seeing someone like yourself who's actually pursuing and doing multiple creative endeavors was/is a huge inspiration for me, because it seems more real, like how I always wanted my life to be but could never solidify. So again, thanks brother. Btw, just ordered the mz1-white rail on black friday, should be here in a few days and I'm very excited because the fingertip grip has been something I've found makes it easier for me to snap at targets. Cya later and thanks again.

slight jump from "stuff needs to exist or there is no meaning (obviously)" to "the purpose of life is to exist"
@WhyIDefy2 жыл бұрын
It's just simple logic ... what's the ultimate goal of life? To stay living. If it can't do that, everything else is irrelevant. Therefore, ultimately, the meaning of life is to survive. What you do with your life to get to that is a lot more complicated.
@laternenpfahle.12492 жыл бұрын
@@WhyIDefy Well yes but the existence of matter does not imply the existence of life, so we can't deduct meaning of life from the nonexistance of matter. Also I would argue that the reason life exists is because the goal of living organisims *was* to survive (otherwise all live would've disappeared somewhere along the way.) Now we have the problem that we are the only known species to achieve consciousness and with that we started craving for a meaning that is deeper than just trying to survive.
@WhyIDefy2 жыл бұрын
When I say to imagine there is nothing left, that means all life is gone too. It's not just matter, it's everything. If everything completely fails / dies / falls out of existence, then there can be no meaning. For there to be meaning, there must be something, therefore the ultimate meaning or purpose is to make sure there is something (survive). Our need for a deeper meaning is another topic, I just wanted to talk about the underlying aspect behind all life and existence.

Thank you for this, you have no idea how much you helped me with this, a whole new chapter in life had started for me recently and for a solid period of time it seemed like an unclimbable cliff, you gave me motivation to start doing those things, together with Linkin Park. It made me want to absolutely own all of those things, and I will devote my efforts into doing those things. The thing I'm referring to is highschool (starts @ 15 here), not for the reasons you might think at first, I always got good grades in primary school and it was all normal and stable and I felt good in life for the last 3 years in my new primary school and with my new amazing friends, it was by far the most defining chapter of my life for me yet. But everything right now just seems to be on a whole different level of me not understanding and everything seems so out of place, and the start was chaotic as well, not knowing what to do/where/how etc. and the whole coronavirus situation didn't help either, last 3 months of primary were essentially just online, it was torture for everyone, and the potential that it'll happen this year as well keeps haunting me. The thought of my 2 best friends helped me a lot as well, the fact I'll get to go out for a walk and have a talk with them and hug them again despite all the temporary hard stress that is hitting me at the moment, all these things, new school, new people, new system, pandemic, potentially online school, thinking about what I'll do in the future, what will even happen, am I doing this right.....? It really sucked for a moment, all that combined is really stressful. You gave me the first step of getting out of a slump and it was the hardest one, and I've always thought you're a great person as well just by hearing you speak on your main channel and conversations on your Discord server. You have really helped me a lot with this and gave me motivation, and once again, *thank you.*

Glad to hear that, just keep going, keep finding answers. Even when you get things wrong or make mistakes, keep moving forward. No one has all the answers. No one is perfect. So it's ok to just keep doing what you can in each moment. Wish you the best, good luck!

"I was gonna go full-on documentary style and just.. super in-depth look at these inspirational scenes" Yeah, I love how you are just sitting there on the ground in baggy pants and showing the mess under your desk. This just makes everything you say feel more real, instead of all those influencers who are dressed way too sharply, with their clean mansions and newest Mac's everywhere. Yes, they are right as well, but you make self-improvement so much more relateabe. Best of luck Zy, keep on developing and doing what you love!
