Started playing for the first time yesterday and it was hella fun, altough really hard. This 1:55 Helped me a lot, i couldn't get past this screen but doing your way made it really easy. The Jaquio manip was really helpful too, if it wasn't by the tips i wouldn't be able to finish the game on my own, i managed to get to Jaquio once but after the game sent me back all the way to the start i didn't have enought patience lol.

There is one way to avoid getting hit by the demon's head, but you can't do it on a perfect run. If you die against any of the final bosses, you start Act 6 over again - but the bosses you have defeated stay dead. Thus, you can take a special weapon into the Jaquio or Demon fights provide that you die first. If you fight the Demon with either the Windmill Throwing Star or the Jumping Slash, you can destroy the head after it drops but before it hits you. Either use the Jumping Slash as you do against any other boss, or throw the Windmill in such a way that it curves and remains inside the head's sprite as long as possible. It will do constant damage that way (the same as if you use it against the fake Kelbeross - but not the real one), and destroy it before it can drop and hit you. It's probably not worth it, just nice to know. As an addendum, you can use a Windmill Throwing Star to destroy the fake Kelbeross in the same way. Basically, the Windmill functions differently if it hits a regular enemy vs. a boss monster - it stops and only lands one hit against a boss, but travels "through" regular enemies to do constant damage. Fake Kelbeross and the Demon's head or tail are flagged as "regular" enemies, and thus vulnerable to the Windmill, Note that the real Kelbeross is not vulnerable to this, and neither is the Demon's heart (though fun fact: there is a Demon's head inside its heart, and that is your actual target. It spawns once the tail goes down).

He's actually a better boxer before he gets hit in the face.

I can't double uppercut him after the dizzy knock down, he just blocks or dodges every time

yeah so when i throw the hook when he is coming back from the dizzy it only deals a little bit on damage (not enough to get him down), any help?

Right when that line popped on my screen, I heard them coming through the front door and I SCREAMED for them to come upstairs to watch me play. I NEEDED the praise for making it that far too. Then they watched Jaquio kick my ass for a Game Over 😂 I'm 40 years old and I'm CONVINCED this game is partly responsible for some of the internal strife I've had over into adulthood 😅

There's something about speedrunning an excellent fast paced game from this era. Anybody can learn and get better at this game at a rate that's not discouraging.

As a guy who played this game in my early teens when it came out and now am mastering it as an adult with kids of my own, I truly enjoyed this whole tutorial series. It helped me land some great times. The best thing about this though was your commentary of each character during the credits.

If there's a new super punch out game, I wish the some fighters from this game and Wii and classic version got into the roster
