Something that made Arnold stand out to me, and something that might be lost in the wealth of expansions to Pointless fans have made, is that the player doesn't have to beat Arnold, the story will continue if they lose. Having a required boss fight be loseable in an RPG is pretty out of the norm but it really sold how dangerous Arnold was compared to the rest of Downtown. Losing to any other Franchiser is a game over, which can be read as the game telling you if Alex and Joel fought them, they would definitely win, this loss was on you. But with Arnold, the game is essentially telling you "fighting Arnold has a very high likelihood these two would just lose". He's a whole different beast from the rest of Downtown, and running from him would leave Alex and Joel in just as bad a state as if they'd scraped out a win. It's one of the little ways Pointless uses the gameplay as a storytelling tool and it always stood out as really cool to me.
