I enjoyed making the goose--I've made two so far , each in a different style but based on the real thing. I think the 114 would work good for an 0 gauge goose---you could use the same motor I use but not have to convert it ----I use post war Alco's and extend the axles an add the type of wheels I want

Great activity. 5 trains running, if I counted right. No switches on the main lines is the way to go. I have 4 main lines with 3 switches on one of the mains. I need to have a spotter helping out if I run all 4 at the same time. I have to keep anything with the sliding auto-coupler shoes off the main with the switches. Some nice metal fabrication work you do.

Yes, five---if I wanted to live on the edge--which I do once in awhile---I'll run six---0 gauge and std at the same time on the five rail track. No switches , no crossings --I did have some at one time but slider and roller pickups don't always like them---I've had slider shoes get caught and almost pulled off.

The crane car is the 991 "Kranwagen mit drehbarem Kran" from Karl Bub (KB). Prewar indeed. It is mentioned in 1930's catalogues. Bub had a series of cars that used the same base (flatcar with the litho railings on both sides) like the 989 18 Volts searchlightcar (Scheinwerfer- wagen), 990 flatcar with canon ( Kanonentransportwagen), 997 flatcar with automobile (Autotransportwagen mit abnehmbarem Auto) 958 flatcar with tank (Güterwagen mit abnehmbarem Tank), 999 flatcar with armed car (Güterwagen mit Panzerwagen), 994 flatcar with 4 petrol barrels. If you Google on: "Bub Nr.991 Kranzug maetrix" you see a german language forumpost with images from the catalogues with these car.

I've been collecting Corgi die cast for years and never knew they produced trains. I learned something new today ! 😄
@stevendouglas659413 күн бұрын
The original Bassett-Lowke company failed in 1965 and after the name had changed hands several times, was purchased by Corgi in 1996, with a range of 0 gauge models being developed by Len Mills, and launched in 1999. The first locomotive was a spirit fired live steam Mogul, but subsequent releases were conventional electric powered. All of the Corgi Bassett-Lowke locos were made in China except the J39 and English Electric Type 1 (Class 20), both of which were manufactured by ETS, as were the various goods wagons. All loco development was by Corgi, although the final two issues, the J39 and Peckett tank were released after Corgi's takeover by Hornby (2008). At the time of the Hornby takeover, Corgi was developing a range of tinplate buildings but that range was cancelled by Hornby who developed and released the resin building range

Nice motorized dump car project. I am guessing there is a trolley motor mounted in one of the trucks. You are right to straighten the twisted tabs on the underside of the AF switch tower to replace the bulb.

That's just what I did. Put the new bulb and gave the four tabs a slight twist. Yes, I motorized a series 10 truck. I built it like a trolley motor and can change it out to another truck at any time. I'm thinking about building a second one and have two power trucks on it.

I really like your projects. Now, for a suggestion if I may, as to the lighted switch tower, when you have bent out the tabs, do not bend them back down, all they need to hold the building on is a slight twist or kink. This facilitates future light bulb changes. Thank you for your excellent channel.
