How do you clear the alarm lights on the supervisory alarm ?
@firealarmtech41002 ай бұрын
If the point is programmed to be a LSUPERV (latching supervisory) you will have to reset the panel to clear the alarm light unless you manually turned it on, then you would have to turn it off in the same way that you turned it on.

I was not in a well lit situation and missed some of the plastic insulating the wire. It works now, but if it's going to fast do you loosen the adjustmen screw more or tighten it? Had to go to work, so i'll fiddle with it more tomorrow, but any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
@firealarmtech41002 ай бұрын
Never had an issue with the speed but if you loosen it up too far it will stop hitting the bell and if it is too tight it will be hammering too hard and choking the bell. my guess is if it is too tight it would be making shorter strokes and speeding up

Hey there! I was just wondering, would you know anything about the Simplex 2100? There isn't a lot of information about the panel and I'm curious to know some stuff about it.
@firealarmtech41004 ай бұрын
That was a "Short Lived" panel that was quickly replaced by the 2120 (see my other videos on that). I've worked on a few 2100"s and may still have a manual on it/I'll have to check but can't promise anything.

@@firealarmtech4100 Very cool! I've always been curious about the 2100 as you mentioned it was quickly replaced. My main curiosity with the 2100 was if the panel was able to use a voice system like the 2120 and 2001 panels.

Hello sir. What does 'master a class trouble' mean? How can I reset it?
@firealarmtech4100 Жыл бұрын
A master class A trouble means the fire panel has detected an "open" in a circuit that leaves the panel, then returns. If there's a break anywhere in the loop the panel will switch power/communication to the return side of the loop thus back feeding the broken half to maintain integrity. When the break in the wiring has been located and repaired, resetting the fire panel will switch the power/communication back and resume monitoring of the loop.

One of the things to know about the Siemens HMS-D style pull stations (like the one shown in the vid): even though the pull handle has a spring, the handle can get stuck on older/dirtier pulls. No idea why that’s the case but you may have to manually push the pull handle back up. One thing to know about the Notifier/Fire-lite/Honeywell BG-10 models is that it was recalled due to the screw reset breaking the pull station plastic. One thing to know about the BG12 models of Honeywell pulls is that you don’t need to flip the switch back up. The pull is designed to automatically flip the switch back up by itself (I’m not joking. It’s true!). One thing to know about the Edwards 270 style pulls is that it’s easy to strip the “tamper proof” security screw on top of the newer models.

Bet that was a fun job. The shoddy wiring, the reprogramming, the fact the panel needed to be replaced. I would be having fun with that job and my OCD would make me want to completely re-wire the panel to fix it back to how it was supposed to be. I wouldn’t be surprised if the bad wiring was part of the reason the panel lost its programming. However, i think it may have to do with the flash memory or ram chip being on its way out.

True, a wav file won’t work. Back in 4100U school, some of the techs that were computer savvy were able to modify wav files and import them. Very cool video. I really wanna become a simplex tech myself so i can learn these panels and mess around with them and make systems work for clients of all types. I do though have a question about es.exe: I was modifying my simplex 4007es demo board and reprogramming it with its matching programmer (6.01.03). One day the computer decided it didn’t want to connect to the 4007es when i decided to dump in a new config. I used an ethernet cable which was connected correctly and the service jumper was in the proper position. A restart of my pc fixed the issue. What exactly could’ve caused es.exe to act up like it did, and have you had the same problem?
