What causes a minority a disadvantage is the fact that they ARE a minority. That doesn't mean they're the same as any other minority beyond that so I really don't understand what your issue is. Talking about issues that affect all minorities doesn't mean issues particular to one group can't be discussed in isolation.

I mean, religion by definition is indoctrination, and so is all education to be fair; doesn't mean it's inherently good or bad. Just shouting "this is indoctrination" when she doesn't like what's being taught doesn't really mean anything when taken in that context. What she really means is that it's counter to her own indoctrination. And since that goes without saying she might as well shut the hell up.

@@Un-ht5bc You proved his (@Edward Messier) point - Paul (who never knew Jesus during his life) wrote the Epistle to Romans after Jesus' death. Only the Gospels include Jesus' words, not the rest of the New Testament.

And many argue Paul had a tough hand to play balancing the stability of the faith against the ruling class of the time on things like slavery ad etc. But whether it's in the gospel or not, it is in the New Testament. And that's squarely on the assumption we completely throw out the Old. All the more power to those who can pull good from those pages, but it ain't for me.

She's anti-gay and is upset that the student was talking about being gay and lost her mind and started throwing a tantrum as these people often do. It's the same woman who spoke earlier about longer recess times (in the PINK shirt). Her name is Bryna Morehouse, and from what I heard her daughter doesn't even go to that school.

@@sleepcrime you don't know that she's "anti-gay", there was nothing said that indicated that. her point was about indoctrination. her points about recess and lunch time are good points and on the side of the kids. she also mentioned sex education for 9 year olds is too soon. these are not unreasonable points. she makes her arguments frantically and in an upset state though, and when a person does that, they are less likely to be listened to. she is not a bad person, but she should've stayed silent while the young lady was speaking and not interrupted.

@@fredsmith6324 I know that she's anti gay. She might not know, but I do. Indoctrination is what happens in church every Sunday, I'm sure she's no issues with that. Informed critical discourse is not indoctrination. She's a brat and she needs to do better. There's no excuse for what she did. She should be banned from all future meetings until a satisfactory apology is issued in person to the student. Imagine if students were behaving like this in school just because they disagree with a teacher or another student so they start screaming and shouting across the classroom? Unacceptable.
