I've seen a compact Powerlifter extractor at the thrift store in its original box, might've been from the late 80's/early 90's. Cool as that sounds, I'd take your advice and not even buy that thing due to lack of spare parts. At least Hoover, even though they're owned by TTi, can make a good extractor. But like you said, nothing beats the professionals.

If you'll notice on eBay, before the Little Green, Bissell had what was called a Steam-Mate in white/maroon instead of green like this one. If you're looking to add a NOS Little Green to the collection, definitely get one of those.

I used to have a Second Generation Eureka Airspeed, the Red Pet edition. I heard that the 1st Airspeeds made had a lot of Problems and Defects with them. I No Longer have that machine when the motor in it died, but for a Cleanair bagless vacuum it had Lots of Suction power. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqqaeqywgrmSnMUsi=LTpMdJAujuKBaU2W

I honestly don't see how underneath the hood these older Airspeeds are problematic unlike the newer ones which I definitely do notice how much cheaper they actually are. If I had to have a Airspeed, I'd rather go with these older ones preferably a bagged model. But overall, Eureka is just one of those brands that don't make them better like they used to except for the earlier Victory based Whirlwinds, I do think these were better than those.

I agree as well but the hepa Kirby bags are definitely the best, I’ve use the white micron magic bags and after a little but of vacuuming the bag had a slight dark color( indicating that dust was getting past the bag), Thus not catching everything I’m using the new hepa bags and the bag still looks brand new and needs change here soon but definitely worth the money.

I used to use those cloth bags and honestly, I didn't personally cared for them. Yes they filter well and reduces clogging but my problem with them is they still stink up just like the paper bags. I even tried the charcoal bags, was disappointed with them. And no matter what I do, I couldn't get the nasty odors to go away. So I end up wasting more money on changing out cloth bags than I do with paper bags and that's mainly why I went back to using paper for my Kirbys.

@@panasonicvac4036 Description: Here I’m showing is my all time favorite Kenmore direct air upright. I got this vacuum about four and a half years ago from eBay for under $200 I believe plus shipping. Came with the hose and crevice tool but the bags I later bought separately. All I needed to do was replace the belt. Other than that, there was one problem with this when I received it. The handle was bent forward due to poor packaging from the seller so I was able to get a partial refund. Despite that, it works awesome and I’m just so happy to finally get one of these cause I’ve been after one for a long time. I first saw one of these on KZbin several years ago and I just immediately fell in love with it. looks so cool, sounds very pleasant, and it’s such a fun toy to play around with. These were competitors to the Hoover Concept Ones and Eureka and then these. I can tell the Hoovers were more solid, they clean better, and more reliable cause I don’t see very many of these left anymore. This came in excellent condition, it looked and smelled as if this came from an older couple’s home. I did noticed that the self propelled feature is very crappy. I don’t know if it’s either because they were always like that, there’s something wrong with the transmission, or just that the handle is bent. I was originally going to look into the handle but because I wasn’t able to get suggestions from others and with how old, especially rare this vacuum is, I decided not to mess with it anymore. Anyways despite it’s flaws, I’d honestly buy one of these over the Hoovers and Eurekas are my all time favorite direct air uprights. I like how much taller it is to press the cord rewind button, light bulbs are easier to get into, bags are easier to replace, and I don’t need a converter to hook the hose onto these. And with the matching grey Kenmore canisters more than Hoover’s and Eureka’s back in the day. One of these days I’d love to find the white non self propelled model as well as the other Whirlpool/Panasonic direct air uprights similar to these such as the black Heavy Duty Plus for example.

A common problem for these sharks are a broken hose, broken lower head hose, and power head failure, which is what occurred for me when I found one on the curb-side. The power head would turn red as soon as the vacuum was turned on, which or course I thought was a blown motor (which I was dumb enough to not check anything else). After installing the new motor it still wasn’t working to which I thought maybe it was a coincidence. I ended up stripping it down and found out that a large resistor had gone pop and put a bunch of black dust inside to which I thought was carbon dust. I still have it apart in my room with the other circuit board which I need to de-solder to put a new resistor on, however its old, the click fittings aren’t great, both hoses are broken, is it worth even trying to save it?
