What kinda paint brush is that? And what kinda pen do you use? I’m looking for the same setup. I love this kinda art.

Seems even at my advanced age, I still learn some good tips when watching you work. Using the rubber eraser to lighten the pencil was new. I have always inked and then erased. Thanks again Martin, for always keeping it interesting;-)

Greetings Martin! I have received my order of the two sketchbooks and love the cover and pages. However, the covers have a strong perfume-like smell. It's not unpleasant, per se, just strong. Did yours have that smell when you got them? I would like to know and if yours do, then I assume it's normal and hopefully nothing to be concerned about. But if yours have no smell at all, then I will need to replace my order. TY!
@MartinLachmairArt8 күн бұрын
Hi, I did not recognise any special smell, just that “normal” paper like one 😀👍
@qso35667 күн бұрын
@@MartinLachmairArt Hi, is that right? This smell is coming from the cover itself, not the ink printed on the cover or the pages inside, so I'm not sure what it is. Since yours doesn't have that smell, I may return these for a replacement. THANK YOU for letting me know! 🙂☮

Hi Martin, I use exactly the same pen and ink as you recommend it. Is there any chance to make the nib alive ones its dried? I washed it with warm water. Now it makes thick lines but it is struggling with the thin lines. And also how should I maintain this pen to avoid this? Thank you if you can help me :)
@MartinLachmairArt8 күн бұрын
Hi! I use mine daily, so a quick dip into water is enough to draw again. But if you don’t draw daily I would recommend sime fountain pen cleaning liquid (e.g. by windsor & newton; at amazon)

It's amazing how the watercolor looks so good in that not-a-watercolor-sketchbook. The result is even better than my cheap watercolor sketchbook 😅 I have a similar sketchbook like this though it is 100gsm, maybe I'll try watercolor on it next time.

This is great. Is the whole sketch done in water soluble ink? Because some of the lines do not seem to bleed at all when you paint over them.
@MartinLachmairArt8 күн бұрын
Thank you very much! I only use waterproof ink made special for fountain pens like “sketch ink”
@3974royal7 күн бұрын
@MartinLachmairArt thanks, but what I am saying is that, on this picture, some lines bleed and some lines don't seem to bleed. So my question is, is the whole thing done in water soluble ink? Or are some lines in water soluble and others in waterproof?

@@MartinLachmairArt You're welcome! I just found your channel tonight and love your work. Thank you, yes, right after I posted that question, I watched another video of yours and saw that you posted a link to the books, so I think I will order them! May I ask another question: About how much time do you spend sketching each day? I'm always curious to know that about artists who have so many drawings and fill up sketchbooks. Thank you!
@MartinLachmairArt12 күн бұрын
up to 14 hours a day. One half for my clients and the other half for new concepts and ideas.

@@MartinLachmairArt You do? That's amazing! I am trying to dedicate far more time to sketching/painting than I do now, but I get distracted by other things too often, so I need to figure this out. Thank you!
