I saw it in theaters on November 5th of 2016, the day after it came out, I was in 7th grade, I came home with my jaw on the floor. I couldn’t talk about anything else for YEARS. I scoured the internet every day for everything related to it I could find, went through EVERY google search result, and memorized all the random trivia I could. I watched every clip that was available and all of these Troll 2 Troll videos multiple times a day. I played all three (3) games the official website originally had until I’d long since memorized all the routes of the maze game. I walked around singing Get Back Up Again and CAN’T STOP THE FEELING!! over and over again and blurting out random quotes at random times at school all day every day. People who weren’t even in my grade would say “No troll left behind!” whenever they saw me because I was always randomly shouting it. A lot of them hadn’t even seen Trolls themselves, they were just like “yeah, that girl always shouts ‘no troll left behind’ for some reason, we don’t know why, but-“ If anycreature said a single word against it I clobbered them with my Trolls lunchbox or whatever else was in reach. I’ll still do it if anycreature trash talks it now. The whole reason I got any form of social media AND the reason I started using AO3 and FFN was because scouring google I saw that other Trolls fans were there. Broppy is the entire reason I’m not 100% romance-repulsed as I’d been my whole life previously. I went to Trolls: The Experience with my mom and had the time of my life and told a Poppy mascot “you’re like, my hero! I wanna be just like you!” and I keep and wear a t-shirt from it. Trolls inspired half my core values in life, redefined and redirected literally my entire life, I can recite it by heart, don’t anycreature FREAKING test me. Anycreature thinking they’re too good for this, I’ll decimate them with you. Up top. ✋
