My aurora air just arrived! Having a blast casting sub 1 grams stuff. I wonder if the silver feather will be much different for casting distance for sub 1 g? My aurora air is super plasticky. Already broke a closing leg for the magnet door. But it stills works. Hahaha. I also have this issue. It makes funny sound while reeling in. Looked around the group. Apparently it’s the spool pinion/shaft that needs to not be centered for it to spin smoothly. So weird.

I actually think they order rods from an OEM, but I never run into(other than one Biutifu) with the same looks or finishing that they have. At least with newer models. I have the Mifine Dreamcast and it looks like an older Purelure/Madhouse rod with cross carbon pattern and a simple graphic.

@@RicardoReview Yeah, I just looked them up to see if they manufacture OEM products and it doesn't seem like it. The name doesn't show up as a manufacturing company. I was just curious since they seem to release new rod models fairly quickly. I purchase lures from Aliexpress all the time but only have purchased one rod from Sougayilang and was not satisfied with the fit and finish. The guides were misaligned and the connection was loose. Mifine seems to produce better products and I'm eager to try one. My only problem is that they have plenty of models that it's difficult to choose.

Awsome rod! Finally a long rod for lure fishing amazing! I have all ways used 7'6" to 8' (213cm to 244cm) even from a boat. I find the longer rod helps the action load to help fight the fish. I don't mind handling the longer rod i am 6'1" or 185cm so a little taller than most. No mention of the rod action on the site except a graph under weight. Looks like a fast action, as to be expected for a 'jig' use. Looking forward to the full review! Looks like a winner with the handing m1 spin combo 👌.

@@RicardoReview in my experience with a little matience most cdm reels are fine in salt. There are a few spots to look out for. Under the drag washer knob the metal round disk there will rust and the shaft the spool sits on. Coat this in a protective barrier and they will last for ages. I am thinking a smear of thick reel grease will do the trick in these problem areas. I have a cheap navion reel i treated the same as my siennas (rinse with water after use). These were the places that started to show minor rust signs over 2 years in salt, about 20 trips. Seasir contra has a lot of seals for salt water use. Seasir products seem good on paper, thry have some decent reviews as well. What reel did you have in mind?

Which Mifine UL/XUL rod would you suggest for a first time XUL? I'm going to try using it for some small saltwater fish (if i can figure out what they'll eat), as well as creeks/ponds. I'm between the slash or outrange (solid vs tubular tip). I'm not sure whether swim or twitch baits would work best for the tiny fish that you find under piers here (pacific coast US) Additionally - how do you rig up the 2cm supercontinent baits?
@RicardoReview
@RicardoReview 10 күн бұрын
Outrange or a lower CW Unstoppable is my suggestion as you get a more versatile, but tubular tip generally is better for hooking single hooks. I rig my Supercontinent 2mm with a tungsten bead glued on a size 14/16 nymph hook or with a 10/12mm long hook with a 0.6gr cheb weight. When I have deeper water I will try to dropshot it.

Essa cana em spinning e um Kastking Megatron deve ser uma boa combinação para pesca costeira! This rod in spinning version and a Kastking Megatron should be a good combination for inshore fishing!

Quem me recomendou só manja de pesca costeira, ele costuma combinar com carretos mais ligeiros mesmo assim, eu tenho a minha com o Handing M1 de casting.

Have you tried any of the Spinpoler TPE smaller plastics that come 20-pack in a small hardcase?

The ajing worms that tapper and then get a bit fatter on the tail?
@borreholic7238
@borreholic7238 24 күн бұрын
@@RicardoReview Yes, that one and some other Ajing ones like the 44mm "Single Needle Tail Worm" or the jointed one (similar to Supercontinents PVC version). Just wondered if you had tested them out - seems like an pretty good option to get a 20-pack TPR baits for under €3. The drawback is maybe that the colors are somewhat limited...

I have caught seabass with the supercontinent needle worm, the fatter one with the needle tail. The ones for ajing work on everything, from sunfish to mackerel.

so, tegmen over artemis in way of smoothnnes? what about drag clicker sound , and drag?
@RicardoReview
@RicardoReview 24 күн бұрын
I would give the drag sound for Artemis but the Tegmen as a lower start inertia on the drag, but I will be putting more hours on the Artemis, they are both great reels.

@@RicardoReview just a small digression. I took mifine honor, 2.4/3-18 cw. if I remember correctly, you took 2.7m, what c. weight and for what use will that rod be? I'm curious :)

After having only fished open water up to this point I finally got the time to explore a forest stream close to the area (in Sweden) where my wife grew up, and I caught the first brook trouts of my life. It was super cool and now me and my wallet are afraid I'm about to get stuck in the creek fishing rabbit hole....... :) I fished with the shortest/weakest rod (I'm talking Casting/BFS) I have for now which is the Mavllos Assault 562UL 2-8g, OK length but waaay to much backbone for that type of fishing, it only really bends in the upper 30-40cm. So preferrably I want something slightly shorter and more forgiving. Looking at rods like the Handing MagicL and Purelure Creek Dance as possible options, I see that the Magic 1.41m UL is listed as 1.5-9g while the Creek Dance 492UL is 1-6g. The Handing MagicL looks like a nice option but the 1.5-9g puts me off when what I need is something more of a 1-5g rating. How is the action on the MagicL 1.41UL compared to the Creek Dance 492UL (2-piece)? Are they more similar than the lure rating suggests? (9g sounds like a lot for a UL 1.41m rod...)

CreekDance is a better overall rod, the Magic L on the other hand Is capable of lower weights because it's a bit more "flexible".

@@RicardoReview Thanks! Strangely enough, the price on the Creek Dance rod I mentioned just INCREASED with 10% with the BacktoSchool save.... :) 1004 SEK yesterday, now 1129. Edit: It's cheaper (709) at the seller on your link, but that seller won't ship the 2-piece models to my destination... Aaaarghh, I love AE but some things still confuse me to no end....
