Crazy. 12 Years ago Cherry wished we were as tough as Boston. To this day nothing has changed, and we still lose to them…

Bobcat was the best for sports radio talk. The Fan has sucked since he left. Some of the people there now in 2024 are embarrassing, not sure what happened. I get they wanted to make changes but what a bore, for me anyways. I never really stayed with the Fan after Bobcat left. He had great sports talk. great co hosts and the best guests.

Detroit is my 2nd favorite team behind the Sabres and I was watching this game at the the Droid bar in Sudbury Ontario Canada. Completely on edge. Chicago finished the "13 season with a 36-7-5 record which is beyond phenomenal. 7 regulation losses in 48 games. one of the best records ever. Detroit finished in 7th seed. Beat out the Ducks. AND meet Chicago next. I predicted a 4-1 series win. Maybe 4-2 for the Hawks. THEN Detroit takes a commanding 3-1 series lead????!!!!!. And of course... cuz this team was deadly! The hawks win 2 tie up the series and send it to Game 7. And of course it goes to over TIME!!!!. ONCE the Hawks scored the series winning goal I was crushed and latex my head on the bar. Canadians consider hockey a religion and to see one of my teams get so close to the west finals a place they shouldn't even be... then lose in game 7 ot. it was a heartbreaker. But Detroit had nothing to be ashamed of. They took Chicago yo the limit. but the Hawks proved to be the better team. I often wonder.. what if the red wings did ELIMINATE the Hawks??. AND met the Kings I the western conference finals... what if they BEAT LA... More than likely it would've been Detroit vs. Boston and Boston would've probably won. Buy well never know. And then we go back to round 1. WHAT IF THE LEAFS Didn't blow that 4-1 lead against Boston in 3rd period of Game 7. AND Boston didn't win 5-4 In IT. DETROIT VS. TORONTO WOULD'VE BEEN THE FINALS. THE underdog Detroit who finished in seed 7 In the East vs. The team with a 46 year cup drought at the time out to prove haters wrong.. would've been epic. But the Chicago vs. Boston series woulvde and WAS WAY MORE EPIC. I've seen every Cup finals since 1996 and in my opinion the Blackhawks - Bruins battle in 2013 was the best one I've ever seen. FUN FACT.. BOSTON AND CHICAGO ARE BOTH ORIGINAL 6 TEAMS! AND THIS IS THE ONE AND ONLY TIME THESE TWO TEAMS HAVE BATTLED FOR THE STANLEY CUP. AND THIS HAWKS TEA.M ?? A DYNASTY. LET'S GO THROUGH HISTOIRY .. FROM BEGINNINF OF THE NHL IN 1927 TO 1938. IT'S FIRST 12 SEASON CHICAGO WON THE CUP TWICE-- 1934 AND 1938. THEN CAME A 23 YEAR DROUGHT- THEN IN 1961 CLAIMEX THE CUP A THIRD TIME.. THEN DECADES WENT BY. 70S. 80S.90S. A CENTURY GOES BY. WE'RE IN THE NEW MILLENIUM THE FIRST 9 YEARS GO BY. CHICAGO ENTERED THE PLAYOFFS ON A 49 YEAR DROUGHT!!!! THEN THEY BEAT THE FLYERS TO CLAIM STANLEY CUP #4. 2011 THEY STUMBLED A BIT BARELY MAKING THE PLAYOFFS FINISHING IN 8TH IN THE WEST. CANUCKS TAKE 3-0 LEAD. THE HAWKS RALLY BACK TO EVEN THE SERIES 3-3. THEN VANCOUVER SCORED IN OT!!!! TO ELIMINATE THE CHAMPS. 2012 THEY FALL IN FIRDT ROUND IN SIX GAMES TO A SURPRISINGLY VERY TALENTED PHOENIX COYOTES TEAM. THEN THE 36-7-5 RECORD AND THEY CLAIM CUP #5. NEXT YEAR LAKings GE T their revenge in game 7 of STANLEY cup semiis. not to worry at all. 2015 Chicago batted Tampa in the Finals. TBL go UP 2-0 in series. then Chicago wins four straight to claim their sixth cup and their 3rd in six seasons. Also 2015 was the first STANLEY cup celebration to occur in the city of Chicago illinois since 1934!! 81 years. THEN 2016 THEY were spectacular but Blues surprised everyone knocking them out. now 8 years later???? 14-36-3-31 pts so far. AND their road record is TERRIBLE.. 4-23-1. THEY'RE SO BAD. That San Jose a team that tied the record for longest losing streak to begin the season (11) the set another record losing 11 straight again. only team to lose 11 in a row two times in one season . . THEN one November 2nd IN SAN JOSE VANCOUVER MASSACRES THE SHARKS 10-1. TWO DAYS LATER NOV. 4 IN SAN JOSE AGAIN. THEY ARE MASSACRED AGAIN WHEN PITTSBURGH BITCH SLAPS THEM 10-2. So they set record for most GA IN TWO GAMES EVER. AND A RECORD. For two straight losses allowing 10 goals or more. AND the record for the most amount of goals allowed in two games on HOME ICE. THAT TEAM has now put the Hawks in last. Of course they have 33 pts. only two points ahead. but not looking good for bedard noww lol. in last 30 games Chicago has 7 wins 30 losses NOW SWITCH OF TOPIC WAY BACK FEW MONTHS AGO I REMEMBER BEING SHOCKED AT EDMONTONS RECORD OF 4-12-0. now they are 17-1 in last 18 games. They are tied with Columbus for second place for most consecutive wins EVER. AMAZING

Always loved how bobcat corners the topic into a corner at times where thd obvious answer is sidestepped and avoided by the person interviewed like in this case. So many words used to dance around telling the frigging truth. Lol love it. Most of us agree SN dropping honest interviewers and keeping corporate sign and cue card readers have ruined most sports intermission shows. Great work Sportsnet.

Not a fan of cherry at all but he got this one right no question. The halak stop sign thing is fine but the whole premise of showing tweets from random hockey fans and having a whole show for it (Chevrolet I-desk) is incredibly stupid. Glad they got rid of that.

The last time Crosby won the cup with the penguins... Just take a look at him purposely throwing his Gatorade water bottle on the ice during the game.. something that can injure another player... Something that is just incredibly disrespectful. I don't know about the snub, it could've been by accident, being caught up in the moment. but Crosby has done a whole lot of disrespectful things in his career. He's just a weirdly bitter guy sometimes, especially when he gets angry and that is not cool

Cherry believes in free speech but only if he agrees with it. Opposing views should not be allowed. Here's a list of those that think like that: Hitler, Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Pinochet, Franco, Brezhnev, Salazar, Shah of Iran, Idi Amin, Mugabe, Videla, and Cherry (dishonourable mention).

That's not a free speech issue you fking moro.n, he's talking about a professional broadcast reading comments from random people who don't have a clue. It cheapens your brand. You don't have a "right" to have your opinions read on air of the most popular hockey program in canada. You have to be a dum.b ass lefty libtard with that lack of common sense.... smh You're also too stup!d to know that your list is all far left tyrannical dictators like we have in canada right now. Stop talking so no one knows you're so stup!d

Tons of talent, a great player - but won't have the respect and legacy of other superstars. Crosby did this - but ALSO - in a Winter Classic when Washington won - Crosby led his team away from shaking hands. Putz. He's a boy - the other superstars were men.
