The steak could have been rested for a few minutes on a warm plate, the blood and juices you can pour back into the pan and make a nice quick sauce with hot water and stir that in the remaining butter and caramelisation on the pan. You would make most of all the flavour of the steak and the butter you cooked it with! If you like red wine / port flavoured sauce, a splash of that and reduce with heat would add some sweetness.
