Anyone know what's going on with Domi and why she's having these long periods away? The release of videos has slowed to a trickle and that's after her coming back from a long period away.

9:50 ... she says, not yet realising the true extent of mindf-ckery Joss Whedon is capable of. Maybe later season have been way too soft on the "late" viewers 🤐

I'm going to die on the hill that Angelus of Buffy S2 was the best (well, best evil) one. It was "fresh", and DB had real fun with totally going full-on psycho for no less than 9 episodes. Later seasons and the Angel series only had glimpses of the true demonic side. Either they had Angel "fixed" within the episode, or the flashbacks were way too short to portrait the full extent of the pain and suffering he inflicted on his victims. It was only ever hinted at in the dialogue. Maybe that's also why new viewers who only know the later seasons always seem to very much underestimate what connects Buffy and Angel until they actually experience the story first hand.

I'm four years late in answering your question, but a sorority is for women and a fraternity is for men. Soror is Latin for sister and frater is Latin for brother.

The demon was played by Hinton Battle, a 3-time Tony Award winner best known for The Wiz and the Dreamgirls movie. He sadly passed away earlier this year at 67.

I would imagine that YOU guys are kinda celebrities for them because they can watch new audiences see their work in full immersive experiences and you 2 are among the most fervent current reactors. I'm sure they wanna ask YOU questions as much as you wanna ask them.

The fact that the comedy and the drama can be of equal strength with the same cast is just so unbelievable. There are major prestige shows that can't do this.

Interestingly, people that reacted to this episode because of the songs, but didn't know the show, thought nothing much had happened in this episode... Yeah, right.

There’s a fan theory, idk if it was ever confirmed as factual, but at the end of “Something to Sing About” the way she looks at the dance floor was Buffy making to choice to burn. To be freed from the hell of living.

I don't know the rules in Buffy. But in The Vampire Diaries you must die with vampire blood in your system, then drink human blood to complete the transition to vampire or you just die.

Its funny when reactors get to this part, and are so upset cause they don't know what the future holds, trust it was alot worse for us in real time when we had to wait how many months to find out lol

At the time networks would edit out any sort of same sex interactions. Shows that tried to show something as simple as a kiss would find their episode had been recut without their approval. Buffy got around it until this point by having Willow and Tara “performing spells”. For The Body, Jos Whedon told the network is they cut the kiss he would pull the whole episode.

When i find a new reactor for buffy, i love to watch them react to this episode. (Also since the video is two years old) it's always great. I also love, how in every channel. All the people commenting on every channel seem to have this agremement that they should also act like Dawn has been there all along....

Starting with a disclaimer: I never actually saw this show on TV. My very first exposure wasn't until the end movie, "Serenity" came out on VHS, and, even then, would be a few years before seeing that there was a TV show that came before. So please refrain from hating on what I'm about to comment. Where I can see this episode being "used" as a pilot (in FOX's immortal ineptitude), I really don't get the vibe that it was "quickly thrown together as a replacement pilot". The vibe I kinda get is more this episode was already there as the second episode and FOX decided to use it as the pilot. Also, if FOX didn't like the original pilot as much as is being said, why would they show it at all (last episode aired and there were three other episodes not aired at all)? The reason I feel this way is THIS episode's lack of introduction to, well, ANYTHING. "Serenity" (pilot) had FAR more character intro, overall setting intro, et al. Okay, off soap box. Mal's statement to the Sherriff about there really being no choice BUT to bring back the meds speaks volumes about HIS character and the overarching theme of the show in general. My favorite Jayne line: "You know what the 'chain of command' is? It's the chain I get to beat you with until you understand who's in command!" 🤣🤣🤣

Iv only just come to the conclusion that its lazy writing making Xander be the one to summon the demon, it would made more of a impact if it was Dawn who accidentally summoned Sweet

The thing which helped this episode was the fact that Joss Whedon wrote the script, the music, the lyrics and he directed the episode. Joss was in total control really so he didn't have to explain to a songwriter or lyricist what he wanted to get across to the audience and then hope that they could come up with suitable music and lyrics. The only things he didn't do was the dancing, which he left to Anne Fletcher and Adam Shankman and the orchestration of the music which he left to Christophe Beck, who composed most of the music for the series and Jesse Tobias.

Other shows take note. This is how a musical episode should be done. It fits in with the show and advances the plot. It is not a standalone episode with no connection to the rest of the show.

So... remember how Lily/Chanterelle named herself Anne after Buffy (and kept the name)? Buffy named herself Joan in this episode, which, coincidentally, was Lily/Chanterelle/Anne's birth name. They both named themselves after each other at one point in their lives.
