The introduction of Holtz is done very subtly for such an important character. I think he's only been mentioned on this show once before we saw him in this episode.

I’m really shocked you haven’t noticed but every season of both shows starts 3 months after the previous season ends, it’s pretty clear in every single season. The show ended each season in May or June and the next season starts in Sept or Oct, so that much time passed in real life and in the show as well. (For example, Buffy was a waitress in LA as Anne for three months)

Rumor and Innuendo was that if "Angel" did not get renewed by The WB, it would have followed "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" to UPN, I have heard from some of the writers, Spike and Angel would have crossed over on "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and on "Angel" but that didn't work out because of the network change.

No. UPN was offered Angel and turned it down. If WB dropped it it would have just ended.

The episode they tried not to speak Buffy's name (out of Angel's emotional issues and the networks issues), but still had to acknowledge her death. BtVS being on The WB while AtS started on UPN actually worked for AtS better than it did in BtVS, in my opinion. The time jump is the in-universe summer break BtVS and AtS have always done, whether the characters are in school or not.

@@BarbaraYaga SPOILERS FOR SEASON SIX I was talking about this episode vs how they deal with not being able to reference Angel on BtVS. And they did kiss in _The Body,_ which aired on The WB, not UPN. UPN was Willow and Tara's breakup due to Willow's addiction story. Seeing them kiss wasn't as sweet as it was in _The Body,_ (due to all the S6 drama) even if said first kiss was to calm Willow's emotions over Joyce's death. But, the previous paragraph is my opinion. Not everyone will agree with it.

Of course I'm not the only commenter who feels this way but at this point I would feel disappointed if you were to deny us your take on the remaining "Angel" seasons. I've seen them all too, on my own it's not that fun anymore. But through your eyes? Still fun because you love these characters too. Don't go ... please?

Both shows literally always have a jump forward by 3 months between seasons. Also, characters don't have to mope around and brood for the audience to understand that they're upset. Angel has lived most of his life without Buffy in it. He is very clearly sad but he's not one to just sit around and cry about it.

The time jumps in the end of any season is cause to the production break, which tooks arround well - 3 month 😊. I know you're far ahead so i know you pretty sure regretting one thing you said about the intro🙄.

The only bit that puzzles me is Cordelia dealing with Buffy's death. How is it she didn't return to Sunnydale with Willow, even if it was only for a few days. Cordy was a part of the Scoobies for 2+ years, fighting alongside Buffy on prom night even. IMHO- the writers missed an opportunity here.
