I haven't found a need to water my Elmer's but I do have a video where I mixed my Elmer's with some vinegar to make my flower petals more moldable. It was really an interesting technique and you can learn about it here 👉How to Make Quilling Paper Azalea Flowers kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYataIqCrcqlm9E

What millimeter paper are you using?
@ThePaperyCraftery
@ThePaperyCraftery 12 күн бұрын
Most of my projects use 1/8" or 3mm precut paper strips because they are the most common. But often it doesn't matter and it's what you're comfortable with. There are times when I say to use a specific size like 2mm or 5mm. Whatever the case, I leave links in the description box of each video for all the supplies that I use.

I buy precut strips from a variety of online sellers and some of those don't say an exact weight on their strips and other times it varies based on the color. I don't use cardstock strips unless specified. Also, I do always leave direct links to all the supplies I use in the description box of each video.

The petals on the orange flowers look to be a slightly different shape. What did you do differently to make them less rounded? I actually like the contrast of the two slightly different shapes. The colors are also lovely. I am just getting into quilling and I find your tutorials to be very helpful.
@ThePaperyCraftery
@ThePaperyCraftery 21 күн бұрын
Good eye! I did make two different shapes. The orange flowers are just not pinched the same on the top. I usually have to do some trial and error before coming up with a final project but some of those first attempts still make it into the videos!

Hi I have a question is the paper strips feel like card stock? I bought some online and they're both from different companies I think. One feels like card stock and the other paper strips feels like craft paper. Thank you
@ThePaperyCraftery
@ThePaperyCraftery 24 күн бұрын
Yes, there are different weights of quilling paper and different companies may offer heavier or lighter strips, or even more than one weight. The card stock will be perfect for on-edge work and outlines and the lighter strips for the rest of your quilling.

@ThePaperyCraftery
@ThePaperyCraftery 25 күн бұрын
It doesn't have to. Some just use the paper they have on hand. Some cut their own strips based on how heavy the paper is that they want to use. I like to buy mine precut because it's easier for me 😁

These are gorgeous Meredith, thank you. Great tips about the glue and vinegar-will definitely give that a go as I’ve wanted to try quilling with narrower strips but get frustrated when they unravel so easily- this might just be the answer. Thank you for sharing,❤😘
