This sounds like realator propaganda . If you're thinking about moving to Tucson, come here, spend a week or two, rent a car, spend 8 hours a day living here. Don't get sucked into this tourist pitch. Tucson is not a wonderful pie in the sky town. The areas in the video are mostly outside the city proper. Take your time, look over everything. Remember the political base in the region are liberals. They take your taxes and spend on social welfare while letting roads and such turn to crap. Have a sizable income and prepare to spend a lot to maintain your lifestyle. I've lived here 60 years, Tucson has grown much, but never matured....RF

Lived here for almost a decade these people are some of the worst drivers I've ever seen in my life, these people don't even understand basic driving laws. Not to mention every third vehicle seems to be a semi truck.

Tucson absolutely sucks ! Run by libs ! Filthy dirty ,crime rate out of control! People drive like lunatics ! Homeless people everywhere ‘! Hit and runs several everyday ! Lived for almost three years and couldn’t wait to get out of there ! In Sierra vista now and it’s soo hot turning the summer and not an oz of water anywhere ! On my way where there is some grass ,water and trees ! Seriously go for a visit before you make your move ! I know so many people who have moved here only to move away a few years later

Lived in Tucson over 50 years. A great majority of the location he mentions are over priced and out of reach for most families. Sam Hughes, really? Get ready for fixer uppers, beer bottles from UofA students, sports crowds and homeless people. Beautiful homes and near events, yes. Also restrictions, parking problems and overbearing associations.

5th gen Tucsonan here - the history and nuances of the city are steeped in BE YOURSELF, smart and of high integrity. The current mayor is a loser, but hopefully the next one will act smart and be open to all races and new ideas.

The background noise AKA music makes it hard to listen to you. You probably have some interesting things to say. Why the background noise? This is like fingernails on a chalkboard. Does KZbin encourage this? This is meant to be constructive feedback.

I appreciate the effort to speak to living in Tucson, but let's be honest. There are many available statistics about where Tucson ranks high for certain types of crimes, such as car theft, property, and violent crimes - Particularly in certain parts of town. It's not all rainbows and unicorns. And It's very convenient to describe Tucson's "diversity" with respect to the hispanic culture, but he neglected to mention that the african/ black population hasn't changed much from 4.5% in the last 40 years. That's not a lot of diversity in a city of almost a million people! As a black female who's lived here for many years and worked in the HR field, it's the most common question I get from potential black applicants. Not to mention, because the spread out nature of Tucson, It's difficult to locate specific pockets of diverse cultures. There are a number of online resources/social media groups for black people who are considering moving to Tucson, and I can state unequivably, that many of the current inhabitants will advise black families where they should not enroll their children for school, or where they have experienced prejudicial bias. But most will agree, as I do, that Tucson is generally pretty friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a very good reputation for diversity on a national level, And real estate professionals need to be attuned to this reality. I have no idea how Asian Americans perceive "diversity" in Tucson, but it might be worth surveying them and migrant populations about their experiences living here.

Hi there! Thank you very much for this awesome run down of the greater Tucson area! We live up in Ouray Colorado. We're pulling our camper down to Tucson in a little over a week to stay there for a week and a half and explore the area! And....we are done with this winter up here! My wife and I will have fun, no doubt. But, my german shepherd that is tagging along with us will be missing the snow, no doubt. Hmmmmm...I honestly can't answer the preference between the Foothills and Oro Valley. I've never been to the Foothills. And, I've only drove through Oro Valley when a couple of years ago, I took a diversion down to Tucson on one of my Phoenix trips. On the drive back to Colorado, I took that Oro Valley/Catalina/Globe/Apache Falls/Show Low way home. I don't remember the specifics; but I do recall thinking it is pretty nice on this western and north western part of the mountain range! Have a great day! (new subscriber, by the way). PS. Marana, Tanque Verde, Vail, Tierra Linda Nueva and other parts will be on our exploration list too! PPSS. Hmmm...Marana has potential too. I'm in the aviation industry. This location would favor if I had to go to Phoenix. So....for all of these places, it is always give and take......some bigger lots, some more bang for the buck, proximity to services, proximity to hiking/walking/biking, maybe a pool & hot tub, easy access to downtown, easier access to Phoenix, rv parking...........so many things to consider!!

Rita ranch has gone downhill though. I wouldn’t like to live there. That being said, Vail is more of a family town than Oro Valley would be. Oro Valley is more of an older community. When I say older I don’t mean like 60+ community but it’s a much older age place. I mean, that’s where I want to live when my kids are out of the house 😂

Would you recommend getting a realtor if you plan on buying a new build in the future? A lot of the staff tells us that we don’t need one.
@LivingInTucsonArizona
@LivingInTucsonArizona Ай бұрын
100%! Never go directly to the builder. The builder's reps have a fiduciary responsibility to the builder an have no responsibility to you. If you go with a REALTOR then your agent has a fiduciary responsibility to YOU. Things can go wrong with a new build and you need representation. Even if it isn't us, have a Realtor.. :) Builders are negotiating, and having a Realtor with relationships with builders can go a long way. By the way, using a Realtor won't cost any more on a builder house, but it may actually save you a couple bucks. Great question! Thanks for asking!

I’m looking at Tucson and found options in Tanque Verde but concerned because I noticed it’s less than 1% of AA at the schools and they’ve recently had some challenges. Is it an issue as a whole or just a one off in your opinion. I don’t want to be somewhere that isn’t safe for my AA family.

You completely ignored San Lucas subdivision, 800 homes, off Marana Rd. BTW, in Gladden Farms a new Fry's superstore is now under construction, open early summer.
@LivingInTucsonArizona
@LivingInTucsonArizona 2 ай бұрын
Yes I did. That fry's superstore has been promised to the area for about 25 years. Now finally under construction. San Lucas has some great prices, but the biggest drawback is the train tracks that go over the only way in and out of the subdivision. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to do SL in one of the next vids.

Hi I have been to Tucson 6 times. My son lived there for 7 years he is married to a girl from Tucson now they live in Sweden. Tucson is the place I like the most. I have visited everything from Turkey to all Western European countries. We are Swedish. We have a couple of hours to Denmark to Germany 4-5 hours. But Tucson is the place I like best With all the sights unlike anything else I've seen. such as the Pima Air & Space Museum/Sonora desert. Unfortunately, no one is interested in receiving your Nordic tourists. It is close to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas as well. Unfortunately, I probably won't be back, it's one of my travel memories.

The Sam Hughes area is NOT a suburb! It's right smack dab in the middle of the city. Nice homes for sure, but there are a lot of them rented to University students year round. So, if you want to hear loud parties, cars racing up and down the streets, and difficulties parking, this is ok for you.
