Thank you for sharing this Jessica. I’m really glad that you made a full recovery. This video has made me feel a lot more optimistic. 😊 My Bell’s Palsy was triggered by a really nasty ear infection. 26 days ago, I woke up unable to move the left side of my face. My symptoms are dizziness, ringing in the ear/reduced hearing (despite the infection gone), unable to blink, move my eyebrows or smile. Thankfully I have been to the ear clinic and my ear drum is fine. I spoke to a lady who also had this problem and she said as her Bell’s Palsy healed, her hearing come back, so that’s encouraging. I am optimistic that I am on the road to recovery. I have been doing facial massages every day and getting plenty of rest. My resting face now looks a lot more symmetrical and I have started to get tingling sensations in my face, which I believe indicates the start of recovery. My dizziness is also easing. 😊 I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I believe this is God’s way of telling me to slow down and this has made me incredibly grateful for simple things such as blinking, smiling and hearing properly. I trust that God will heal me. I cannot wait to be better and enjoy all those things that I took for granted. 😊

Thank you, Jessica. Your story is encouraging. I woke up 3 days ago with the right side of my face paralyzed. That afternoon, I saw a neurologist who confirmed the Bells Palsy diagnosis. I'm scheduled for a brain MRI Tuesday morning. I'm a 61 yr old man and I thought I was having a stroke I can't I was overwhelmingly relieved with the diagnosis but it's better than the alternative. It is incredibly depressing. The last thing I want to do is be seen in public. 1 1/2 months seems like an incredibly long time right now, especially knowing that there is no gaurantee it will go away by then . I've read that in 20% of the cases it never does. Thank you again for sharing your story

Thank you so much for this video. I was so scared of all the unknowns and how long it would last. I prayed to God it wouldn't last more than a month. I am 15 years old. About three weeks ago, I was laughing with my cousin and she said "Tiana, your smile is really weird." and I realized I couldn't move half my face. My grandma took me to the hospital and they looked at me and said "get the girl straight to the emergency room ASAP!" I got rushed to the emergency room in an ambulance. they thought I was having a stroke. I went through all the scans and they all looked good. Praise the Lord it wasn't a stroke! I also had very very bad headaches leading up to this. I couldn't get out of bed they were so bad. Idk if the headaches had anything to do with this. The doctors didn't think it was bell's palsy because they could see the wrinkles when I raised my eyebrows on both sides. But then the next day I woke up and it got worse and I couldn't close my right eye. And then the next day it was even worse and I coudnt raise my eyebrow. We called the doctors again and the prescribed me steroids. The next Monday we went to the doctor and I got my blood drawn and they prescribed me antibiotics. I remember looking at the doctor and asking her how long this is going to last. She looked at me and then my grandma and back at me and told me it could last just a few weeks to months to years. When I heard years , my brain was fixed only on that for the next few hours. I was so mad. I was so angry. This was so so hard. It felt like God was punishing me. I now look back and realize God was punishing me, rather using it as an opportunity to trust him. It was so hard not being able to smile. looking at old photos and wondering if I'd ever get it back. Looking at other people's post and thinking how lucky they are to be able to smile.. I told myself I'm not going to go anywhere for months, I wanted to be homeschooled in the fall if this wasn't gone. Fortunately, this happened in the summer. I got mad when people took pictures of me bc I couldn't smile This video helped me so much and reminded me that I wasn't alone in this, that God is not punishing me, and I will recover. People kept telling me that I'm still beautiful with bell's palsy and even if it does last my entire life they will still love me. This was so hard. I am so so so so thankful He healed me and if you're reading this, stay strong and keep faith, He WILL heal you! Use this time to grow closer to Him. Romans 8:28., " for all things work together for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose" He has a plan for this, even though it's really hard to see right now. It was a scary, long two weeks. I am healed completely. It started suddenly on June 26, 2024 and today on July 17, 2024, I am healed completely. Thank you, Jesus!!! I give all the glory to You!!!!

@jessica_augenstein7 ай бұрын
Oh wow 3 times I can’t even imagine. Do you still have it? I’ve had it twice now myself. Well I don’t know the main cause. From research I’ve done it can be from a virus, stress, or an affect of a vaccine. First time I had Bells was actually right after I got a vaccine to play tennis in college and at the same time I was recovering from strep, pneumonia and mono at once, yep I tested positive for all 3. There’s a great Facebook page on Bell’s palsy where I’ve learned a lot of info since getting it a second time last year

I can understand your fear and I’ve had similar fears about BP and other things in life. But I encourage you not to let fear of this or anything prevent you from living a life filled with joy and contentment. When we’re faced with fear like this these verses come to mind. If you have a Bible (if you don’t google kjv scripture) memorize, meditate and master them. You’ll soon find that fear will be nothing. Philippians 4:6-7 Isaiah 26:3 2 Timothy 1:7 2 Corinthians 10:5 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Does STEROID Medication help? Any drug dangers or side effects?
@jessica_augenstein10 ай бұрын
The first time I had it I used the steroid prednisone and it did help but with ANY medication there is always a possibility of risks or side affects. Thankfully I never had any issues. The second time I got it was this past May and I was 13 weeks pregnant so I took an antiviral that was considered safe for pregnancy. Prednisone is not safe for pregnancy. I had zero issues with the antiviral and my baby is totally healthy (was born in Nov). I also had a shorter time with Bells the second time around but I don’t think but was all credited to the antiviral

Thank you for replying. Yeah, it's been about close to a month now that I've had this. And I am getting movement back in my left side. But it is not the same as my right side. But I'll tell you this , it has really made me, Realize to take battery care of myself. And I've learned a lot about the face. As funny as that sounds I can move my eyebrow. I can slightly wrinkle my forehead again. And the side of my mouth is now starting to move again. I can't believe how happy it is that I'm able to spit again. I know it sounds crazy. The small things that we take for granted how much they matter. When you start to regain them. I'm not where I need to be. But I am definitely happy that I see movement in my face. Most beautiful video I've seen about Bell's Palsy. I'm on day 12 and noticing improvement, but the process is slow. I'm thankful that I can see a progress and don't want to be ungrateful so I keep reminding myself that it could have been worse. I'm lucky to have mild symptoms, but yeh when it comes to facial nerves, it is a slow process. I was prescribed Prednisone for 10 days and tomorrow is my last. For how long did you take them? And did you take antivirals as well? Did you try acupuncture or recommend it? Praying for everyone to fully recover and so happy for you to be healthy again. Thank you for your words and encouragement! God bless!

I’m sorry you’re going through this right now! You’re wise to remind yourself to be grateful yes it could be worse and you’re doing the right things to heal! Be encouraged you’re seeing improvement already!!! I had it again in may while I was pregnant and noticed improvement around end of first week and it only lasted a month! I don’t remember how long I took prednisone but I think it was similar to 10 days. In may I took antivirals that we’re “safe” for pregnancy and that was about a week. I’ve never had acupuncture but I heard it can help. Lord willing you’re near the end of this:)

I developed Bell’s Palsy last year (4 Aug 2022). I still have facial paralysis now (1 Oct 2023). My paralysis will never get any better, that’s the official diagnosis from an ENT consultant. I can only drink through a straw, without it the liquid runs out of the right side of my mouth. When I eat I have to hold a napkin up to the right side of my mouth to avoid the food leaking out. My mouth movements control my eye movement. When I try to smile my right eye closes and I look like a gargoyle. I don’t go out any more, I avoid seeing anyone.
