Jessica, thank you for sharing your story and your tips! As you know, it's so easy feel alone in this. But, it's comforting to know that we are not. I was diagnosed two weeks ago. It hasn't been easy. I had two deaths in my family last month and now this. I have felt sadness, anger, bewilderment, and self-pity. After I let myself go through those emotions, I realized that it could have been a lot worse. It could have been a stroke. I could be one of those poor homeless folks on the side of the road, asking for money in this cold weather that I sometimes see on the way to work. But, I'm not. It's certainly no walk in the park, especially since my line of work involves me talking to people in person, all day, everyday. I learned two new exercises from you along with the tip about B12. I figured that this was a wake-up call for me to take better care of myself. But, I agree with you in that it's very likely a call from God to be closer to Him. So, thank you for insights and for your encouragement. Glad to know you're fully recovered and pray that you stay that way!

Thank you, Jessica. Your story is encouraging. I woke up 3 days ago with the right side of my face paralyzed. That afternoon, I saw a neurologist who confirmed the Bells Palsy diagnosis. I'm scheduled for a brain MRI Tuesday morning. I'm a 61 yr old man and I thought I was having a stroke I can't I was overwhelmingly relieved with the diagnosis but it's better than the alternative. It is incredibly depressing. The last thing I want to do is be seen in public. 1 1/2 months seems like an incredibly long time right now, especially knowing that there is no gaurantee it will go away by then . I've read that in 20% of the cases it never does. Thank you again for sharing your story

Thank you for sharing this Jessica. I’m really glad that you made a full recovery. This video has made me feel a lot more optimistic. 😊 My Bell’s Palsy was triggered by a really nasty ear infection. 26 days ago, I woke up unable to move the left side of my face. My symptoms are dizziness, ringing in the ear/reduced hearing (despite the infection gone), unable to blink, move my eyebrows or smile. Thankfully I have been to the ear clinic and my ear drum is fine. I spoke to a lady who also had this problem and she said as her Bell’s Palsy healed, her hearing come back, so that’s encouraging. I am optimistic that I am on the road to recovery. I have been doing facial massages every day and getting plenty of rest. My resting face now looks a lot more symmetrical and I have started to get tingling sensations in my face, which I believe indicates the start of recovery. My dizziness is also easing. 😊 I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I believe this is God’s way of telling me to slow down and this has made me incredibly grateful for simple things such as blinking, smiling and hearing properly. I trust that God will heal me. I cannot wait to be better and enjoy all those things that I took for granted. 😊

After about a month I saw about 50% of my smile come back, and then it slowly got better. Thank you so much for this video. I was so scared of all the unknowns and how long it would last. I prayed to God it wouldn't last more than a month. I am 15 years old. About three weeks ago, I was laughing with my cousin and she said "Tiana, your smile is really weird." and I realized I couldn't move half my face. My grandma took me to the hospital and they looked at me and said "get the girl straight to the emergency room ASAP!" I got rushed to the emergency room in an ambulance. they thought I was having a stroke. I went through all the scans and they all looked good. Praise the Lord it wasn't a stroke! I also had very very bad headaches leading up to this. I couldn't get out of bed they were so bad. Idk if the headaches had anything to do with this. The doctors didn't think it was bell's palsy because they could see the wrinkles when I raised my eyebrows on both sides. But then the next day I woke up and it got worse and I couldn't close my right eye. And then the next day it was even worse and I coudnt raise my eyebrow. We called the doctors again and the prescribed me steroids. The next Monday we went to the doctor and I got my blood drawn and they prescribed me antibiotics. I remember looking at the doctor and asking her how long this is going to last. She looked at me and then my grandma and back at me and told me it could last just a few weeks to months to years. When I heard years , my brain was fixed only on that for the next few hours. I was so mad. I was so angry. This was so so hard. It felt like God was punishing me. I now look back and realize God was punishing me, rather using it as an opportunity to trust him. It was so hard not being able to smile. looking at old photos and wondering if I'd ever get it back. Looking at other people's post and thinking how lucky they are to be able to smile.. I told myself I'm not going to go anywhere for months, I wanted to be homeschooled in the fall if this wasn't gone. Fortunately, this happened in the summer. I got mad when people took pictures of me bc I couldn't smile This video helped me so much and reminded me that I wasn't alone in this, that God is not punishing me, and I will recover. People kept telling me that I'm still beautiful with bell's palsy and even if it does last my entire life they will still love me. This was so hard. I am so so so so thankful He healed me and if you're reading this, stay strong and keep faith, He WILL heal you! Use this time to grow closer to Him. Romans 8:28., " for all things work together for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose" He has a plan for this, even though it's really hard to see right now. It was a scary, long two weeks. I am healed completely. It started suddenly on June 26, 2024 and today on July 17, 2024, I am healed completely. Thank you, Jesus!!! I give all the glory to You!!!!

I just want to say I wish I would of been more acknowledged about this back like 12 years ago . I’m going through it right now it’s my second day , and it’s my 4th time but it’s been literally a decade since I got it . I fully understand how you feel and how humiliated it can be. My first time I got it was during 6 or 7th grade which were one of the most embarrassing moments in my life. Honestly I was made fun of. I never fully regained my facial nerves back but you couldn’t really tell unless I pointed it out. The first two times I did go back to normal . I wish I would of gotten treatment and found a doctor who was more acknowledged of my situation. You are truly amazing for coming out, and very encouraging and bless you for that.

So I never knew massaging my face would help so I suggest you to try as much as you can. I been doing it and it help this time . It’s my third day . I’m not gonna lie but it makes me feel hopeless at times because this time I have a sharp pain around the side of my neck . Never remember it being so painful.

I'm thankful that I can see a progress and don't want to be ungrateful so I keep reminding myself that it could have been worse. I'm lucky to have mild symptoms, but yeh when it comes to facial nerves, it is a slow process. I was prescribed Prednisone for 10 days and tomorrow is my last. For how long did you take them? And did you take antivirals as well? Did you try acupuncture or recommend it? Praying for everyone to fully recover and so happy for you to be healthy again. Thank you for your words and encouragement! God bless!

Be encouraged you’re seeing improvement already!!! I had it again in may while I was pregnant and noticed improvement around end of first week and it only lasted a month! I don’t remember how long I took prednisone but I think it was similar to 10 days. In may I took antivirals that we’re “safe” for pregnancy and that was about a week. I’ve never had acupuncture but I heard it can help. Lord willing you’re near the end of this:)

Jessica, thank you so much for sharing your story. Same here, after having a migraine for whole day I started to feel not right on Saturday night. Spoke with my doctor over the phone on Monday and she thought that I might have BP or mini stroke and my doc recommended give a call to ambulance or go straight to A&E. My husband took me to A&E where I was diagnosed with BP. I have been prescribed with prednisolone in high dose, a gastro-resistant tablets, eye drops to use during the day and eye ointment for the night time, plus to use a tape to tape my eye for the night time. All that is very terrifies me but after watching your video it truly gives me hope to be as normal as before. This morning I had an ophthalmologist appointment who checked at the back of my affected eye and confirmed its all good there. So I started to think positive after that and hope for full recovery too. Also after doing some research how to treat BP naturally I ordered some echinacea tablets and elderberry syrup to support my immune system. Wishing the best to all, especially to those who are suffering with BP right now and wishing you a full recovery soon.

I've had BP for a year and half. Just so everyone understands there are cases where it does not go away and then becomes just facial palsy. I'm glad you talked about message and stretching. There are great videos on stretching, massage and facial excercises to help in recovery that I highly recommend. Lastly I would say make sure to be your own health advocate. If you feel things are not recovering, contact your physician.

I was diagnosed with Bells palsy in the ER 9 days ago after helping my husband through lung surgery. On prednisone and anti-virals for a few more days, and starting to look into acupuncture and b12 vitamins. Worst are the eye symptoms and headaches. I can taste fine, but my hearing is hyper-acute on the effected side, and my speech is somewhat impaired. I sound like I have a bag of marbles in my mouth. I need a clear voice and a nice smile for work! Hoping this all heals quickly but my age and pre-existing health conditions are also factors. It's a very difficult time right now.

I had been diagnosed with Bell's Palsy which also affects speaking and swallowing. Yes, you can get depressed looking in the mirror..I totally avoid doing it. Mainly because I could feel the unnatural gravity pull. It has become less apparent...took about 2 weeks to see some difference. I was really afraid of swallowing...which I found very difficult. I wore sunglasses most of the time ...until the very apparent facial differences slowly changed.

I woke up yesterday with this. I had thought maybe I had a stroke and started to freak out to the point my blood pressure went all the way up to 170/110. Luckily I had a dr apt in the morning so she was able to take a look and admitted me to the hospital. I was prescribed prednisone and was told they should make the healing process go by faster. I sure hope so.... like you had mentioned I have been getting very depressed about the whole situation and keep thinking why me? But I need to remind myself that I’m not alone, other people go through it as well and maybe it’s a sign from god. I want to refrain from going out in public until it fully heals but that plan is unrealistic because I’m currently pregnant and due in a couple of weeks so I’m gonna have no choice but to be around other people. I know I need to stay strong for not only myself but my baby. I’m thankful to have such a supporting spouse by my side through this. I was diagnosed in 4 days after giving birth and as you can imagine it completely knocked my confidence as everyone wanted to come meet the baby and see me. At first I didn’t want to leave the house and just wanted God to heal me now and then, but now I realised I had to go through this valley so I could learn to chill, stress less and smile more! I also had steroids and anti virus but acupuncture is helping a great deal, facial exercises and I even got an electric muscle stimulator machine. I’m getting most movements back, smile is getting back slowly but not there yet! Just try to relax, enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and baby and have faith in God that this shall pass and you WILL get better! I’m here if you need someone to talk and good luck! X Raquel

I have always had a issue with being sick or debilitated in any way. Always made me feel crappy if I wasn't feeling 100% physically/bodily. Perhaps that pride is why the Lord has given me this wake up call. This body is a temporary dwelling place that will pass away with this wicked world. Prayer and Gods Word is what matters. I pray that anyone going through this is able to recognize the lesson God is teaching you and like this video states, use the opportunity to grow closer to God. Talk to Him, listen to Him and TRUST HIM! There is no other purpose in this life as important. Thanks for sharing your story and I pray for all our brothers and sisters suffering for any reason and lift them up in the Holy Righteous name of Jesus! Amen

I'm entering week three of my struggle with Bell's palsy. I'm seeing slow but steady improvement. I love this video because, as a Christian myself, I know how important it is to approach what I'm experiencing from a spiritual perspective. I also believe that God knows best and will always have my back no matter what. That being the case, I see this as an opportunity to exercise my faith for His glory and to perhaps contemplate what lessons I'm supposed to learn from this. I've remained positive and prayerful so far through all of this, which has NOT been easy to do; especially since I make my living on TV and my face is critical to doing my job. Despite my optimism and positive attitude, this has been a very frustrating and painstaking time for me and I don't by any means want to give the impression that this is anything less than a totally life-changing experience while it's happening--and not in a good way. So for me, it is incredibly inspiring and encouraging to listen to you discuss your experience from a Christian perspective. Thank you for that and God bless you.

My fiance got diagnosed with Bell's Palsy just a few days ago. I went and got him some vitamins that contain B12 to help him along with the healing. He did get prescribed Prednisone and Zovirax for it. Thank you for this video. I'll tell him the other things to help him along.

Hi Jessica, I just watched your video. I really appreciate your honesty about your faith and belief in Jesus. We, humans, tend to take so much for granted. My Bells Palsy started December 24th, while on vacation in Germany visiting my family. Great timing. I went to a military hospital and they were the best! My wonderful nieces are taking great care of me I know God has a plan for this and I am thanking Him for His loving care and provision. Thank you for sharing your story.

@@jessica_augenstein Thank you for your reply. When I 1st watched your video I was concerned that I wouldn't look the same again. I followed the doctor's instructions and thanked God daily that this was just Bells Palsey, and nothing really serious. Since that time I have completely recovered! I praise God and continue to thank Him for being with me through this.

Hi Jessica: Greetings from New Zealand. I suffered a Bells Palsy attack three weeks ago, and PTL, I have almost fully recovered. I now have full control of my facial muscles, and the worst thing that I experienced was not being able to wrap my lips around a cup of tea or coffee, or around the top of a bottle. My attack may have been as a result of stress, I am an insurance agent, it maybe as the result of a virus, or as the side effect of the Covid vaccine. I am taking it a little easy for the next couple of weeks, and then I’ll be back to work full time. I believe also, that the prayer of the fellow believers was also a major contributor to my rapid recovery. Thank you for your testimony. Blessings: Richard

I healed my bell palsy in 3 days after visit and stay at hospital And now it happen again and it took me like 2 weeks to 80% recover I need to be 100% or maybe 98% recover And my family think it cause by watching too much phone and tv. And the best to heal it is sleep a lot Cause last time I had bell palsy ( not this one the first one ) I sleep all day and night when I had it and it healed within days 100% and the second one I have it I Didn’t sleep much and it healed only 80% it been 2 weeks now

Wow that is so crazy!! I have not heard that before!! You're experience is so unique! Are you able to sleep a lot during this time? If it helped last time go for it! Our bodies are all different! I too remember sleeping a lot. Idk if TV or phone is the cause but could have some link maybe? When I was healing I watched TV everyday lol
