@AllenBoardman it was very cool. I always enjoy those moments and am keen to try and improve my knowledge of wildlife that we see on adventures. I'm not great with birds, but I think it's a Kite. Nice to see. It's a curious thing in the psyche of the bikepacker that we usually like to share our adventures with a trail mascot/spirit animal! Apologies to Sheepy for calling him a monkey!

@@free-rangeandferal7810 as long as you enjoyed it - that’s a win for me 🙂 yeah, they stayed dry in the front and rear roll packs. I sprinted over to it and jumped in to retrieve as quickly as possibly. Sadly, I think my iPod shuffle may have died as they were in the feed bag. Thank you so much for the compliment on the footage, it’s made my day!

Amazing scenery! I’m also planning my bikepacking trip in couple of weeks. What type of rain jacket you guys were using? I’m having very hard time looking for one thats both waterproof enough for full day of riding and breathable.

Scotland is always beautiful! I’m happy you liked it. I use an Endure GORE-TEX Jaxket now - it’s really good, but as it’s Gore, needs reproofing a lot. I think Danny (Sonder) is wearing a Paramo jacket, and Oli will be wearing something posh - but I can’t remember exactly the brand. I can find out for you though!! I can’t say it’s 109% breathable and waterproof, it does one or the other at one time really well - but it is good for creating an eco system where it’s wet, but warm 😊 Where are you heading??

@@invalhallawithodin4340 that sounds amazing! I’m so jealous. I use a primaloft Endura gilet or coat when the temperature drops also. I messaged Danny and he uses a Endura soft shell jacket and Oli is wearing a Endura MT coat. Enjoy your adventure!

Love this Allen! Wales is on my list. My Dad was originally from Liverpool and I know he used to cycle in Wales a lot. I wish I'd asked him more about his cycling while he was here so I could retrace his footsteps. Will try and get a trip in 2025. Any areas you would recommend for a wee 2 or 3 day bikepacking trip?

@@CharlieVanPoppel ah thanks Charlie!! Wales is amazing - in my opinion anywhere Mid Wales is a winner, Cambrian Mountains would be good. Get yourself on a Bear Bones chilled event like the Welsh Ride Thing. There’s sooooo many people that go there!! If you get close to deciding on lengths of stuff, I’m happy to send you a GPX or two. Who knows, maybe your Dad may have ridden some of the tracks :-)

Drones have added a whole new dimension to travel vlogs. The views are stunning and your cinematography is superb. At the end of the day we are but tiny specs on the landscape, so make the most of getting out there and enjoying all nature has to offer.
