Bikepacking Dumfries & Galloway Forest - A Bothy Adventure

Hi all!
On the build up to the 2023 Dales Divide, I headed out to Dumfries & Galloway with a 200km route in mind. I had a spare three days and wanted to stay at a couple of bothies. Did I get one to myself, or share it with a load of other like-minded folks? You will have to watch it and find out!

I know that bog so well. We are getting a track put through soon - floating on wool! It will link together 150km of tracks across D&G and into Ayrshire. We have all the permissions ready - so watch this space.

Brilliant adventure! It's nothing better than to find a bothy after hard cycle🙂Thanks for making this film. Brought back memories too! Had some business to do in Newton Stewart last winter and had an opportunity to borrow an old mountain bike in there. Did bike/hike to another bothy called White Laggan. Will never forget that trip.. Love Dumfries and Galloway.

Our local stomping grounds!! - great video as always Allen, I did watch with interest as I knew from where you came and heading to Tunskeen was going to involve that crossing of no-mans land... I've done it a few times and tried different ways but they are all a nightmare!! - great effort and we will are looking forward to your next adventure!

Cycled there and some NCN7 a few years back on a 3 dayer, wish I had more days. I will have to get back over the pond

Great video Allen, some good riding in that area I believe... I haven't ridden any myself... although I've climbed a few of the hills. A mate lives on the Mull of Galloway and has ridden a bit round there. Thanks for sharing, cheers Alistair 👍
