I cant get this game to play on my linux desktop. This message keep popping up when i try to play this on steam. DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument.

I don't run Windows, so I'm not sure on that front. It runs very well on Linux.

I have a few issues with some graphical glitches that seem to show previous frames on wayland. I'm guessing it's some Nvidia bs caused by explicit sync missing.

you can get kicked if your punkbuster isn't up to date. If you play the game via steam, just download the punkbuster.exe file from their website. To to the update area, add game, then update from there. If you open it via wine or proton tricks it'll automatically find the directory and update punkbuster. Other than that, no you shouldn't run into any problems. The punkbuster updating problem is a known issue, even for Windows.

It's not opening with experimental Proton here, I have to use version 6 of Proton and when it opens it gets laggy, I tested it on Windows and it works normally

Chrome. It does run natively now on steam. Proton experimental is all it will run on and I don't recommend using voice chat, at least for me it crashes every time I try.

That's the only way to play it on Linux. If I'm opening a browser, in linux, and playing a game through said browser then I am playing it on linux. It will not play via proton or natively.

@@mubashirbhai6147 For Fortnite and COD, yes it is the only way. No one, not one...single..person has gotten those games to work on Linux. Fortnite can play on mobile, so through geforce its fine. COD feels weird and will drop a frame or two.

you have to install proton easy anticheat on steam. If it continues to not work, if you're using mint or Ubuntu I recommend switching to a distro that is more leading edge like Fedora or Nobara.

Hello, I'm trying to run in a i5 2400 with radeon R5 430 GPU 1024Mb dedicated memory, I managed to make it run with custom Proton settings but it runs so slow its impossible to even change graphic settings, according to other reviews my hardware is enough to run the game properly, I've seen a video of the game running over 50fps with intel HD 630 graphics in windows, that's less powerful than my setup, I would like to know if is there something I can do to improve performance with my setup, I don't want to install windows only to play farlight 84 in this pc

@@manuelrivas8750 If you're using GE-Proton8.24 , all I can recommend is to tough it out and get to the graphical settings menu to adjust them. There's no way to do this outside that menu. Something similar has happened to me with Dishonored 2, it''ll launch in the lowest resolution full screen at 12fps despite my hardware setup. So, for the first time playing it I have to adjust the graphical settings.

I'm using Fedora. Nobara is a good option as well. It's maintained by the guy who does GE proton, so all the gaming specific tweaks are already done to it.

I had an error early on where the game I purchased would not connect to Ubisoft to verify. I had to boot into Windows , launch Epic Games store and launch the game there to get it to verify. After that I could go into linux, launch heroic games launcher, use ge-proton8-25 and it works fine.

@@gurudevmahato7380 It is if you have a decent high end pc like 16 gigs of ram and nvidia 3060 ti with 1 tb ssd then it will be fine for you as garuda uses too much ram etc, i have tried it my specs i very low 8 gb ram intel uhd graphics , garuda works smooth but if you want to game on garuda you need to have high specs

Just using Herioc games launcher and Ge-proton8-25. My gaming rig is an i9-12900k paired with a 6800xt. Everything runs off a 2tb NVME drive and 64gb of DDR5 ram.

I'm not entirely sure. It was working fine and then after a kernel update in Fedora I kept getting a " Failed to save video. Either your graphics card doesn't support GPU Screen Recorder with the settings you used or you don't have enough disk space to record a video" error. Mind you that nothing changed other than the update and it was working fine before hand. So, OBS it is for now.

@@RecoveringFpsJunkie Ah right, fedora. The issue is that fedora has disabled hardware encoding for h264 and hevc on amd/intel (in mesa). Some corporate distros have done that (manjaro too).
