I agree. The design of first gen TSX is so understated. Timeless design… that rear end is gorgeous to this day. I just saw one in LA yesterday, slightly dropped with a bit wider wheels… just loved it. I don’t think the second generation was as good but then again, that’s just my opinion.

Great video! One question - you mentioned driving through all kinds of weather except for snow. The tires on the GV70 are the same as on our BMW X3 (replaced the 21” summer tires it came with) and I’ve had multiple times where our car has aquaplaned or spun out at low speeds (20-30mph) on wet roads (not even heavy rain), and am concerned. Any similar experiences using these Michelin Primacy A/S tires? Tires tread just checked and still looks great.
@JuanCarlosLTO
@JuanCarlosLTO 3 күн бұрын
No issues at all. I had a 3 series with the M Sport package and the suspension being sort of stiff plus the lower profile tires made for episodes, some scary, where we slipped sideways, once on an exit ramp, the slabs were not perfectly aligned, some lose gravel and the car lost grip and slid… I’m not sure if it can be attributed but 🤷🏻‍♂️ These tires did very well in heavy rain on my trip and in the few occasions of that we’ve driven it while it’s raining.

Oh and if your planning to buy the gas model, their price drop quite much so looking for a 2022 would be really good for anyone budget (except EV one)... since the base Genesis warranty is really good, it's a really great incentive to buy used!

we sold my wife’s 2016 Civic to Toyota dealer mainly because it was a safe and easy transaction. i could have go $2K more from Carvana but i heard about all the problems with them and I didn’t want the headaches. We got the check next day and worked with a real person the whole transaction. they made it easy and risk free. the last time I used AT was on paper in the 90s. 😂 As I got older Easy and risk free was more important than a bit more money.

I agree and can relate to everything you’ve said. I’ve sold my last two “newer” vehicles to Carmax for the same reason but when it came to my Acura, the value is much more subjective. Carmax would have offered me less than $2k. To this day I don’t understand why or how people trade on OfferUp and receive complete strangers in their homes for a $20 dollar Easter egg basket 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

Thank you for this video, Juan Carlos! I love the late 90s-early 00s Lexus interior - many think it's old school, but to me newer Lexus interiors just don't make you feel as pampered as these. And so durable and reliable. I had a 2000 RX300 that was a hand-me-down from my mom; I took it from 150K to 220K before I sold it for a newer RAV4. My dad is the original owner of a 1990 LS400 with about 110K that he still drives when his Leaf's range won't get him where he is going. Those wheels really make your GS look the way it should and match the proportions/styling.
@JuanCarlosLTO
@JuanCarlosLTO 21 күн бұрын
That first gen LS400 is awesome! Unfortunately most of what I see on the road have been either abused, modified or both. About 10 years ago we got a 1993 SC300 for my wife and it was in perfect condition, black with tan interior, so rich! I gave it away to my brother and it got totaled later. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I don’t discard getting a clean first gen later but it’s gotta be in pristine condition and I’m sure it won’t be cheap. Yeah, Lexus are, like you say, durable and reliable. Thank you for watching my video.

I have the '22 3.5 Sport Prestige. The only time I have to use the fingerprint reader is when I do not have my key on me. Place my finger on there & then I can press the start button to start the car. Also, I use the white selector knob to select my profile, but if I don't select anything, it'll default to my profile since I'm driver one. Also when setting up your fingerprint reader make sure you place your finger on the reader in all different direction/angles & barely covering the reader. Mine works every time no issues with reading my finger print on the first try. I got the '22 because I liked the suede seat inserts all the way down the middle & leather on the headrest & side of the seats. I guess when I update I'll get the Nappa leather seats. I'm not a fan of the diamond pattern though.

I have the material on video but I haven’t had too much time to make videos lately. I never took it in for service because it hasn’t done it again, I still drove the rest of the trip with super hot weather and it just never did it again. We’ve had a 2025 GV70 for about 3 months. We bought it because of the exterior and interior styling. But we feel the beauty is skin deep. We came from a BMW X3. When you entered the the X3, the seats would go to your seating and stay there. On the GV70 you have to press the memory on the door. If my wife (who is much shorter than me), drove the car before me, as soon as the car starts, I get squished between the seat and the steering wheel. I was told by the “dealership” (which stinks) that this was the way it works. That sounds like crap to me. Also no wireless carplay. In this day and age? The car is a one and done. We’ve learned our lesson. Never again once the lease is over.

@@JuanCarlosLTO that is my recollection. Our dealership didn’t seem to know the car very well.
