Col. Tom Parker had Vernon sign documents on the day of Elvis's funeral to ensure he (col.) would keep earning money from Elvis. Col. Tom was sued by the Elvis estate too & lost. Thankfully, we are fortunate to have Graceland open to the public.

If if if he wanted to save Graceland was for his own benefit, just to continue milking the cow, just like Priscilla. Wasn't Parker sued for embezzlement?

@ He gave because of the shock value, just to see people’s faces as the received gifts and sometimes in a drug infused state. I’m not saying that was true all the time, but a major component of this behavior.

@FrankieLovesElvis

@@EpfanarchiveExactly, yet what people still don’t seem to understand is sure Parker got a big chunk of the percentage on the merchandising, but Elvis would have to hire five other people for all the work that Parker did for him so it all evens out.

finally some common sense & honestly elvis was a grown man who wouldn't be told what to do by anybody many people tried to get him help, tried to talk to him, begged him to get help..even the colonel, actually cancelled several concerts because of the shape elvis was in elvis was in control of elvis he knew very well he needed help he had every resource on the planet at his fingertips but sadly chose not to take control of his life only elvis could've saved elvis i really hope peters new book about the colonel & elvis will finally put to rest this whole the colonel killed elvis narrative! elvis' lavish spending & self destructive path with the meds kept him in the cycle that eventually took his life

The City of Memphis wanted to buy Graceland. Vernon, who was allowing the fans to visit the gravesites, had the idea long before Priscilla. As he got sick, he signed papers with the bank and Priscilla, who was over Lisa Marie.

@@judyheagleCorrect. I wish they would get this part of the history of Graceland right. Vernon signed his new Will on Monday and he died the next day. It should never been allowed with the medication he was on.He would not have been in his right mind and therefore illegal. He gave Priscilla what she wanted at a cost to Lisa. Priscilla kept hassling Vernon for quite a long time. Once she got what she wanted it set the chains in motion to rip Lisa off.
