Japanese people like to grill them over charcoal. It's a delicacy. Vietnamese people like to braise them over a hot pot. Others like to smoke them. Many different ways

Gopher Cod are the best eating fish I’ve caught in Big Sur. Baked whole body with chillies, tomatoe and onion you can’t beat them. The Asians in San Francisco pay top dollar for them. Keep a few and try them.

I think the China rf or the black and yellows are highly prized. Heard people really like those. I'm a big fan of the verms texture but I'll keep in mind the gophers as well. 👍

I can drive like normal, however the faster you drive the more wind resistance increases and thus decreasing your over all range.

To answer the shore fishing question. Sand Harbor area near the rock where you could get night worms and power baits down to 20-30 ft should produce rainbows. Basically any area that fits that concept should work. Macs off shore is mostly a winter thing when water temp are in the mid 40’s. There is a local you tube guy “wilderness with Amani” he fishes a bunch in the Tahoe area from shore.. thanks again for this vid.

Thanks for doing a Tahoe vid. It’s a great location, been fishing that lake for 50+ yrs. It would be more productive if you tipped your jigs with a minnow. If you had any lol. The lake is full of Mac’s 3-6lbs. The schools you see on the sounder generally are those fish. The bigger ones (by the way the CA Mac record is 37lbs). The smaller ones don’t hang around those big ones like lings they would be eaten by them. Trolling under the schools of kokes could get you a good size Mac. Troll larger Koke looking stick baits.. anyway thanks again.. tight lines

I don't know enough about Tahoe to fish from shore. I do know those fish tend to be deeper. Sorry I couldn't be much help 😅

Yah I think that day the temp was way too hot and they moved off shore for a bit. It's definitely a fishy spot. I'll try again next time
