Nice. you guys are hardcore with the drysuits and laying in the water. I had really good luck finding clams up in the rocks, where they get trapped and end up living and growing there. Happy hunting

I think it's just fun playing in the mud sometimes. Not so much for the clams. Just having fun in the mud lol

There are some other areas there with rocky sand and the clams are only 12"-18" deep. Love clamming. Haven't seen any crabbing there lately.

Crabbing gets slow after commercials get out there.

You can also do this in Dillon Beach near San Jose. I did this few years ago when I was still in shape. It was rough digging about 3-4 feet deep. These clams are the horseneck clams. The Geoduck clams are buried even deeper. Good work.

in my family we used to call clamming "smelling like a s s!" 🤣🤣did it in Half Moon Bay and Moss Landing. Fun except for those giants that are real deep.

Havent been there in 2 years , maybe more.. how do you prepare them?

Sashimi is best, if not battered and fried as clam fritters, clam chowder, or clam congee.

Keith ask Tim if he has ever gotten a geoduck out of tamales bay.
@TheLostAnchovy7 ай бұрын
I did talk to a guy who said he had a spot for them there but it's very specific type of sand and of course it's also really deep. Haha of course he didn't tell any specifics

My avatar is me holding my son and 2 geoducks. I have gotten them out of tomales bay at a few sand bars. And yes they are about twice as deep to 3 times as deep as the horseneck. My brother and I once dug a 5.5 feet deep hole to get 1 out. Let’s just say that was about all we can go for the entire low tide because it took us 2.5 hours for the two of us to get it out.
