Hey Jake. Great video! I noticed you pasted the gtm code into the wordpress header-but in the ghl exampl you only put the meta pixel code in and then changed the events on each page accordingly. Is it ok to instead put tag manager code into ghl and specify the tags and triggers like youd like to fire on each page instead? thanks

@@travisphillips-v3u Hey! Thank you! Absolutely. You can use gtm instead, and use individual tags that trigger on each different page view. In this video I was simplifying the process for people who only use the pixel.

So it would it just be gtm in the header and base code -then just have capi already set up and have the desired events selected in there(capi) and then just create tags for all of them -along with the workflows to push the data back to meta?

@@TravisPhillips-ey5pi Yeah. Many different ways to do it within GTM, but it looks like you understand it well enough. So long as you are firing triggers for specific tags when specific pages are hit, or specific events are happening, you should be good to go.

I have set this up but it's pulling through our facebook ads leads. Google is requiring me to set up a zapier integration and only giving me a facebook lead as an example to pull data through so they don't have an associated gclid. Still having continuous issues with Google ads and Gohighlevel unfortunately.

@@MohammedElmubayed The way the conversionAPI works is that it will only attribute leads back based on that fbp/fbs and/or an eventID. Because of this, there will be no attribution to the ads themselves if the lead didn’t come from the ad. You are basically just feeding the pixel/dataset more info about the type of people who become leads/appointments/clients. Not telling Facebook that the lead came from that specific ad. Facebook will determine that on their own. Does that make sense?

Great video. I’ve submitted 3 comments now with questions that you then immediately answered after I asked. 😂 This is the best video I’ve seen for understanding the differences between tracking code, workflows for funnel actions, and workflows for lead actions 2 questions: 1. Is there a way for workflows to send custom conversions? 2. Would you ever use event set up helper? It seems if I do this then I could send more granular data to Facebook like button clicks, form views, or is that more granular than I need to be?

Also, using the event set up tool is fine - it just doesn’t recognize form submission clicks if you are using an form from GHL on a wordpress site - I probably should have gone over that in the video 😅. @@KevserKurt-os8ni Hey, you can likely go through customer support to try to get that done, but you can’t do it yourself. You also want to make sure your number pool is routing to a number that you don’t have in GHL, or your routing will break.

@@owenelkjaer Not quite sure what you mean. The way it works is, a JavaScript swaps out the number that is on your page with a specific number only shown to that visitor, so - if they are the only person to see it, and they call it, the attribution will track back to that exact caller, if that makes sense. It’s not enough to just have one static number if you want to know exactly which ads your calls are coming from (and to be able to capture the attribution natively so you can send conversions back in the future)

can regular toll free or a2p number not track within ghl? is that where number pools com in play? If i use a2p number on my website doesnt it show within ghl how many times its been called or when a lead has called that number? Or is it best to use a number pool on a website or funnel even if i only need one number because there si more tracking capabilities with it over a toll free or a2p?

@@flu-flamer If you are running ads to one specific landing page, and you only have one ad, you can assume that all calls to that number came from your ad. Otherwise, you will only know where they came from if you utilize a number pool to capture the url of the page they are calling from. Basically, if you have a site that has multiple pages people can navigate to, or if you have multiple ads running to the same page, you will want a number pool. Beyond that, you won’t get any native attribution if you aren’t using a number pool, so you would have to create your own reports with custom fields. The native GHL reporting won’t work for you. Nice video! Is it always possible to use custom values for Facebook pixel ID and Access token in GHL automations? A mini tracking course including GHL snapshots for tracking would be nice if you had for sale. You don't use server side tracking?

@@antonmarklund2678 Thanks man! Anywhere where custom values can be used, you can use the custom values for pixelid and access token. I haven’t tested it on those new events that I briefly touched on in the vid. I don’t consider myself an expert on server side tracking (I’m learning!) and I’ve seen and heard good things about Stape. A lot of what I build is based around “offline” type conversions - so brick and mortar or service based businesses where there are down funnel events that need to be tracked, not just website based online events.

@@LuyandaShange-z9k Hey! Short answer is..yes. It’s helpful to have the data, whether or not you use it as primary. Long answer; I’m not a huge fan of call extensions (mainly because they are notoriously difficult to attribute). You don’t need to create a conversion to track calls from your website. If you are using number pools and capturing attribution, you can send those in as lead conversions (can even put a time duration filter) - Having a website tracking script/conversion tag for specific clicks to call on your website, especially for mobile, is also beneficial.

@@popocaboudoir Hard to diagnose without seeing your setup. If your tracking templates are set up correctly, and there are query parameters in the URL that are captured by the form, it will track properly. Likely to be breakage somewhere within those 2 things.

@@AdrianDubon Hey, that’s usually why you will get errors. They typically won’t hurt anything, so I would just keep an eye on your tracking as leads are coming in, to make sure they are attributing properly. Another reason errors happen is if you have campaigns that don’t have adgroups (IE: PMax or DemandGen campaigns). For those 2 campaign types, specifically, you will need to go in and add static tracking templates on the campaign level.

Question, what would you put the conversion value as if it really varies depending on the job. for example roofing, jobs can be $200 - $50,000? is there a way of changing the value before you push it back to google

@@christianbragg22 This is a really great question. Unfortunately, values don’t pass through to AdWords at the moment. I had this exact issue with a client, tried seeing if the opportunity value would pass through - it wouldn’t. We ended up pushing data out from highlevel to a Google sheet and having AdWords pull the conversions from that sheet to capture values.

For your secondary workflow conversions, it was unclear if you are also adding a filter for Content first touch was or is Google Ads? In other words, lets say you are marketing via Meta, Google Ads and contacts are going to the same pipeline where you are tracking booked appointment conversions. In your workflow it was unclear how you distinguish a booked appointment Google Ads vs some other marketing channel?

@@replymedia Hey! The only way a conversion will be sent is if the GCLID is captured natively, so there isn’t necessarily a need to filter. You can* (*if you want to) filter based on the gclid existing or use custom fields to capture that native gclid info into a custom gclid contact field, and filter based off whether or not that field is empty, but it’s not necessary.

@@dkoonin123 Hey there, the attribution will still be captured, but the native reporting and conversions won’t work. You can also still push the attribution values to custom fields to make use of them (send to sheets, utilize in zaps, use webhooks to send custom conversions etc). Also, assuming you have the pixel set up properly, you can also use an api to pull fbp/fbc using get contact.

@@jgehersky you're a legend. Appreciate the quick response. I honestly don't use the native reporting in GHL at all but I send a lot of data to g-sheets which I'll have to play around with. My main interest with UTMs is to use the "If/Else" workflow step to attribute leads that booked on the same calendar to different ad sets for split testing and differentiated follow-up sequences. Sounds like I'll be able to do that 🤞🏻

@@hi_alti_fit Hey, this wouldn’t work mainly because the conversions are being sent via offline conversions from GHL, which limits you to one ad account. For cross account conversions, you’d likely want to use GA4.

Hey, the script will modify your tracking templates on an adgroup level, so it will likely ignore the additional info in your final url at the campaign level. If you want to ensure those final url utms are captured, I would add them to the end of the tracking template url within the script, if that makes sense. If you don’t care about capturing the old final url utms, and only want to capture the GHL specific utms, I would remove them from the campaign level, just in case. Let me know if that doesn’t make sense.

It looks like you likely have this conversion showing for the ad account you are demoing in the video, since Google gives you the Store Visit Conversions action as an option when you created the new campaign. If you don’t know they came because of a Google Ad, I wouldn’t recommend sending a conversion in. Many ways to go about it, but depends on your specific scenario and use case.

I have enhanced conversions set up on my website for my main conversion, so whenever a lead submits a form, the email associated with that submission gets sent back to google.

GHL conversions are not enhanced conversions. They solely rely on the Google ClickID (gclid), and are considered to be offline conversions.

what about number pool with IVR?

Hey Cliff, number pools aren't supported within the IVR yet, but I would guess that functionality will be coming. I definitely don't recommend pointing your number pool to an internal number, as that will break the phone pool forwarding. If you are dead set on utilizing the ivr, I would go with CallRail or CallTrackingMetrics.

​@@jgehersky Is there any lost benefit to not having the inbound calls going into GHL? I'm still trying to wrap my head around call tracking in GHL but it seems in order to get the full benefit, all inbound (and outbound) calls should go through GHL.

Hi Jake, I want to say thank you for the quality of you training, great to see someone who knows there stuff, thanks, wanted to ask you do you need to have Google Tag manager set up as well for the above call tracking to work or will it work as you outlined with Google Automations and Google Ads Conversions setup as you outlined?

Hey! No harm in having your GTM set up and sending in conversions via website actions. This guide is specifically for offline conversions - Typically used for down funnel conversions or conversions that don't happen on your site.

Wondering would the offline conversion also track online? If one had GTM tracking online, could there be double counting? If you get a chance sometime maybe do a video on online conversions alot of the current videos dont work when you follow the instructions

Another question as I consider implementing it on my own business website. Are there any negatives to using number pool / swap? I noticed you are not using it on your own webstie - why not?

Hey, if there are negatives, I can’t think of any off the top of my head. I’m not currently running any ads to reachunleashed, so I have no need right now.

Thanks for this series of videos Jake. Question: Am I correct that we would need to add the javascript to all 'sites' so for instance if a client has a wordpress site outside of HL and funnels inside HL, we'd need to add the javascript to their wordpress site and also add it to all of their funnels inside HL?

Hey! You are correct. Any site that you want the number swapped on, so you can track the url and parameters, would need to have the JavaScript on it. You also want to ensure all potential numbers are included in the swap targets (if you have different numbers on different sites) - hope this helps!
