Good video and topic but too meandering in your discussions. I'd either edit the video down or focus your discussions on the topic at the moment. Don't script it, but keep it short and to the point. Also, humor can be really tough if it's forced. This humor kind of felt like that and thus didn't feel natural. I liked the video regardless so I hope you keep evolving!

I've avoided the double stack 1911 niche until just recently. A family member has a gun buying disease, in that he buys guns, never shoots them, and then I buy them at a muuuuuch reduced price. 😂 I just picked up his 4.25 Prodigy with Dawson Tool-less guide rod. It was unfired, and I grabbed it for nine bills. It's going to be a project gun that I'm going full send on.

How's the size comparison between the DWX Compact and something like the Staccato C2 or New C? Medium hands and pondering grip size. Thanks for the video.
@txarmsАй бұрын
I would say size wise in the grip the CZ/Dan Wesson is a much better fit for small/medium hands “typically”. Obviously everyone is different…but the ergonomics on the DWXc is far superior to the 2011 platform. We actually just got in the DWXc brand new optics ready version the other day that wasn’t out when this video was published. We just put those on our site recently.

Without a doubt if I was in the market for a 2011 pistol it would be the Platypus. You go on their web sight and can customize the gun in all kinds of colors and options. The fact that it takes Glock mags which are abundant and super cheap. I am pretty sure you could even use a Glock 18 mag at 33 rounds. I have friends that own Stacatto and they have great outstanding customer service. But I think the Platypus just makes sense.

Thank you for your video, gentlemen! I am looking for a concealed-carry/home defense pistol. I really liked the full-sized DWX. I have large hands, so a grip that fits is important. I want to equip the firearm with a green-dot and flashlight. I started out looking at the Sig Sauer P226 MK25. However, I cannot equip the MK25 as I would like. If I heard you correctly, the DWX's may not accommodate the green-dot and flashlight. If so, what are your thoughts on the Springfield DS Prodigy, Beretta M9A1, or Stacatto CS DPO? Thanks, JP
@txarms3 ай бұрын
The Dwx can take a dot…it would just need to be sent off to a company to mill the slide since it’s not optics ready from the factory. We also did a video on the prodigy vs stacatto vs platypus. I’m not a fan of the prodigy at all but the stacatto is great…as well as the stealth arms platypus. We became platypus dealers and stock them regularly because of how much we loved them.

Paying 2K for DWX does not make sense to me . Especially with it NOT having Optics Cut . I could buy CZ S2 Optics Ready 1.2k , CGW SAO Conversion 270 , Extended Left Side Safety 75 , Lok Veloce Palm Swell Grips 120 , CGW RMR Footprint Optics Plate 50 , CGW 11# Recoil Spring 10 , Magwell 80 , and HOLOSUN 507-Comp 350 . That's slighly over 2k and that's gonna be 1 bad ass setup . Not saying the DWX ain't awesome . I just cant justify when I can build a better pistol for the same amount of money and they are from the same family . Hell CS TS2 Orange is also about 2k as well . They aren't optics ready but you can get dovetail OPTICS mount that's pretty legit and reliable.

@@johnbuntin7188 I've shot the DWX . I cannot tell a difference . My S2 with CGW SAO Conversion is right at 2#s with super short reset . The DWX does have slighly shorter reset but not by much. Might as well save another 200 and get Staccato P DPO. That's the only reason why I stop at 2k in total for all mods I want . Any more than that then I should of just got P-DPO

Like the action and concept but not the reasoning behind it 😂😂! Atf needs to be changed to alcohol and tobacco and that is it! Constitution clearly states shall not be infringed!
@txarms5 ай бұрын
The only reason behind it is so that the bolt stay closed and doesn't allow the gas to exit the system when the bolt opens. It's much quieter than than a semi auto .300blk...not to mention now I'm not tuning the gun for 4 different variantions of the cartridge in supersonic and subsonic ammo that is both suppressed and not suppressed...it's just a short, lightweight hunting rig that can just be really quiet. It's also (in theory) more accurate since there isn't any gas block or tube on the gun that is changing the barrel harmonics and allows for a more consistent shot.

I found a slightly used 4.25 prodigy for 1100$ , replaced all mim parts, brazos ignition kit, new trigger, new injector, holoson red dot, aluminum magwell, and send it off and got the slide and barrel v8 ported, this thing feels like a 22 when you shoot it and it’s been 100% reliable. Absolutely love it, after ALL that I’m still less than 2k for a 2011 style pistol that shoot flatter than the 4000$ staccato XC

I have all 3 of these, and 40 years experience shooting 1911’s You both are obviously anti Prodigy and it showed your negative bias. All 3 are decent guns,. If you gave me a 2500 buck budget , I would buy the Prodigy and take the 1200 buck left over and do a bit of work , it would then put the base P to shame. Or buy a spec’s out platy and take the extra 500 and get a nice optic … The P is over priced for what it does. So it would be my last choice before you jump on me and my opinion. Watch back your video and tell me you did not have a negative preconceived bias against the Prodigy . If the failures was only 1 mag and 1 type of ammo, to be fair, it could have been a damaged mag, bad ammo or a dirty or dry gun,
@kennethwalton55826 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, for the Prodigy, when you buy a Glock, you’re only spending about $500-$600 for the firearm. After you add your “improvements” you may spend another $500 or $600, and end up with a grand total no more than $1200. Versus the Prodigy that starts out at $1450 and STILL needs additional upgrades to make it worth having. The Platypus is a much better deal for the money.
