Elephant can now draw woke western people, who are very sensitive about everything except their dick.

I have lived in Thailand 17 years and am intimately involved with elephant rescue foundations. Every elephant in Thailand, with very rare exceptions, that is trained for entertainment, riding, or labor, have been taken away from their mothers at an early age and put through a prolonged process of 'breaking' the elephant's will through traumatizing pain and fear. This is a long standing process called Phajaan (Crushing), where a mother's love is replaced by pain and fear. Once the elephant is broken and compliant, then further 'training' takes place with a hook to inflict yet more pain. When the elephants are not performing they are often chained, away from the eyes of the public. A terrible life. This video is being used to glorify this elephant's talent and to perpetuate this practice for profit. Tourists need to wake up and BOYCOTT any and all elephant shows, riding, and any venue that puts elephants in any situation other than living in their natural environment. Please practice due diligence and patronize bonafide sanctuaries, which are usually 'look but don't touch' venues, allowing elephants to be elephants in their natural habitat with companions. Elephants do not enjoy painting but are merely doing what they were trained to do under duress and the threat of pain for profit. They would prefer to live free live in a proper sanctuary, and never feel chains or hooks again. Let's promote the welfare of these majestic creatures. Feel free to fact check everything I've written. Look up Phajaan (Crushing). Please donate to Elephant Rescue Foundations if you're able. Don't contribute to their misery. Thank You for your consideration in becoming part of the movement to improve the lives of these gentle giants by allowing them to live with the dignity they deserve. Make the world a better place.

someone mentioned that the trainer was pinching the elephant's ear to guide it to draw. Seeing the video i believe the comment written in vietnamese/thai as there is option to translate it into chinese after the comment.

By placing a flower in the trunk of her excellently drawn elephant, Suda was clearly sending an important message - we wish for peace, so please stop shooting us for financial gain. This wonderful, highly intelligent lady Earthling is clearly on a mission to spread love and peace among ALL Earthling. I absolutely love her.

Try getting a house cat to paint anything like that. The elephant whether is trained or not or is aware or not, it's still amazing!

How is the elephant aware if what it is painting? They r taught to paint that. The painting could be anything. Also the elephant is tortured. Sure elephants r relatively smart but they are also easier to control and happen to have trunks that can hold a paintbrush.

Wish they showed the elephant from different angles to see if a trainer is standing by its side guiding its movements with the paintbrush.

Wish they showed the elephant from different angles in this video. I’ve seen a video where a trainer is standing beside an elephant holding on to its tusks slightly moving the elephant's head up & down or sideways or tugging its ear forward towards the canvas to encourage spots & blobs depending on the strokes needed for that particular painting.

All these videos should be taken down. This cannot be a genuine National Geographic film or report. It is clear the mahout guides the animal which had been trained to hold trunk rigid. It is not a sanctuary. It is a prison with no ethics.

How much does the elephant trainer control the movement of the elephant's painting, I noticed the trainer with his hand behind the elephant's ear, perhaps signaling, where the paint strokes should go.

Notice how he grabs the ear of the elephant and appears to squeeze it. It’s a warning to the elephant. While training in the morning and evening he’ll have something he pricks the elephants ear with that causes pain so that the elephant later in front of tourists paints as it’s been trained to do. Trained with pain

Before an elephant is trained to paint or perform or pull logs out of the forest, they are first forced through Phajaan/Crush/Torture Training 24/7 where they are tortured brutally. It kills up to half of all captive Asian elephant calves, it is so brutal. When an elephant paints, it is not beautiful, it is tragic, because that means the elephant was tortured first to crush their spirit. Do Not give these places your support, your business, your tourism dollar, or any other form of support, because baby elephants are tortured to do this!
