I don’t think its respectful to spot and stalk on a public land hunt like that I have personally had people stalk deer that I was watching from of my stand scare them more than once down in south fl. I think this just encourages people to do it more thinking it’s easy when actually is way hard than still hunting (I have spot and stalked bucks with success) plus your buddy is out of breath and jacked up trotting across that field towards that buck good chance he makes a way better shot in the stand. Deer are in rut rn but chase deer around like that when they aren’t probably never see them again on that hunt lol Let me ask you this you really there is no chance of you mess someone’s hunt up doing that? selfish if you ask me when we wait years for permits and then spend the time and money to go
@SwampNStomp

In that particular WMA spot and stalking is how 90% of people hunt. I’ve never heard of people hunting stands there except to get a vantage point to spot n stalk From. But that said, no i think there’s more of a problem with that fact that you think that just because you set up your stand somewhere that you own the entire area around it. Both are legal ways of hunting, nobody is wrong for doing either. Now if know someone is setup in a stand at a certain spot I’ll definitely give them a wide birth, but if I slip in on someone in a stand that I didn’t know was there, I would back out as quietly as possible, but I certainly won’t be apologetic about legally pursuing deer on public land in whichever way I see fit. Thanks for watching, great discussion point! -Mark

I don’t think there was anything wrong with that shot. Frontal shots are only really a problem from a treestand. From the ground they are either lethal or not even close. Think about it, up front there throat arteries, brain, lungs and heart, not many places you can hit that wouldn’t kill them quick. Also that wouldn’t definitely was not lethal. I’ve seen them survive from a lot worse. Those people found him waking around 8 hours later… -Mark

Florida is the most confusing and complicated place to hunt. I have hunted in 12 states in the last 50 years and Florida is the worst from lazy FWC officials to hunters who shoot first and then identify what they shot at. Vietnam was friendlier, less confusing, and a lot safer. crazy hunters.

If they didn’t have those complicated regulations we wouldn’t have deer left to hunt. Our state is nutrient limited to they have to manage very strictly to make sure the resource isn’t depleted. That’s not an issue in states where monocultures of corn are the norm. FWC does a fantastic job with the limited funds that they have. -Mark
