Has anyone who's ever played Golden Axe (any version) not stood at the bottom of the level and watched the enemies walk of the ledge lol 😂

Also Flicky was one of my first Megadrive games and I seem to have so many versions of it inadvertently over the years - it’s on various compilation carts for Megadrive such as the Classics cart with Gunstar Heroes, Alex Kidd and Alrered Beast. I also have it on Mega CD as it is included on Game Can Vol 1, it’s on Saturn on the Memorial Selection and pretty much every compilation pack released for PS2 through to the current machines. Never realised I had so many versions of it but it still has that addictive one more go factor

Yea Flicky has got to be among the most ported games ever, i agree.

Have both of these. Played them a lot back in the day and always hoped they would do some more of these to make the arcade back catalogue more accessible. Obviously these days with the proliferation of emulators etc the arcade classics are mostly accessible but back in the day console ports such as this were ace.

Yea the exclusivity of these collections where a great addition to have in your collection back then for sure. Very cool indeed.

@@memoriesofsegaYT Definitely! Loved the MSX Antiques Collection on Saturn too. Shame Konami didn't do a second collection - although the Saturn one was lovely as it collected together all the games into a single collection.

Being the biggest pro Sega Master System guy the Double Dragon 2 player mode offered where NES Nintendont was just 1 of the Major reasons why i choose Sega over it anyday not to mention 16 bit Genesis cleanly won over the NES fans here in America.......although obviously short lived the console wars went on past the bit era but it sure was fun while it lasted as Nintendo won the long gane

The feeling of actually beating this on the 8 bit Sega Master System was truly indescribable now seeing it was based on an old American movie it makes sense because the ending with winning the trophy 🏆 and the pretty blonde California woman was everything a 10 year old would ever strive for ! Sega Master system still in my humble opinion the best 8 bit system here in America it got a bum wrap over the Uber popular NES

I loved Black Belk back in the day. It may not have aged the best, but it was the first time I remember playing a 1v1 fighter (bosses were basically Street Fighter 2 way before it ever came out). Even then, I remember thinking we needed a game where you did nothing but fight 1v1.
@apollosungod281912 күн бұрын
It isn't hard to figure out that ONLY Double Dragon is the absolute best beat em up on the Sega Master System simply because you have the actual two player cooperative mode and ironically following close is Streets of Rage and Renegade, then Vigilante and so on... Bare Knuckle aka Streets of Rage 1 for SMS seems to have had a good programmer work on it... SoR2 seems to have a completely different programmer. Vigilante was a type of successor to Irem's Kung Fu arcade game and as such that game was designed as single player and the SMS does a very close to the arcade to home version. Renegade was made years later by an excellent Sega internal or contract dev team who greatly benefited from being Master level programmers on the Mark III aka Sega Master System and as such they were pulling off multiple scrolling effects that are absent from most of the other games on your list plus it features additional animated sequences or set pieces not found on the Nintendo FamiCom or even Arcade original and as far as the gameplay issues... there are none... all YOU have to do is remember the direction you're facing opponents in and then do the proper commands.

@KasumiRINA12 күн бұрын
Best part of Renegade / Nekketsu no Kunio-kun was reactive moves, like you could stun the enemies then grab them to hit or throw (instant KO if your back is to the water in second stage), and if they're on the ground, you could mount opponents for ground punches, there were also running attacks. NES version had that all with those super deformed sprites like in River City Ransom from the same series. Worst part is door maze at the end if you don't GUESS the right exit, it just loops last few levels forever.

It wasn’t necessarily the fact that the PlayStation couldn’t do 2d as well as the Saturn, the main issue was that Sega’s console had more internal RAM, plus you could expand the memory with cartridge slot at the rear of the console. This was very handy, if not essential, to reproduce the best 2d fighters of the time.

Still seems odd to me how Sega was one of the leaders of breakthrough 3D graphics in the early 90's arcades. While always boasting about "bringing the arcade home".. They even had a decent port of the 3D Virtua Racing on the Genesis! Yet, they designed their mid-to late 90's "next gen" console, to be 2D.. Only tacking on some 3D capability after learning that the PS1 was going to be a 3D beast.. Such a monumental mistake, possibly what started Sega's console manufacturing downfall..
@schadenfreude627426 күн бұрын
Sega's internal conflict between their Japanese and American HQs was the Direct Cause of their Downfall. They have got no one else to blame but themselves. The Stuck Up and Completely Out of Touch Japanese Executives completely destroyed whatever chances they had. I'm surprised they didn't commit Seppuku publicly for the Absolute Shame and Failure they brought to Sega. 🙂

Oh my goodness, now that's something I'm going to be hyped for when it releases! Although, one thing I'd like the devs to reconsider should they happen upon my comment: please, please please don't make us search for the emeralds within the levels themselves. That's something that's never worked in these early 8-bit titles, special stages would be far better suited for emeralds. Or if you want to stay true to the original design, at least give the player an opportunity to replay the acts where the emeralds are found, like through the save file selection screen or something.
