I have to replace these on my 2005 CR-V as well. Mine is a stick shift so I believe that at least one of the mounts is different on my car compared to the automatics. This is also the same process on a Honda Element as well.

i want to replace the fronts only. worried the fronts will never level out with the older rears. People were saying on amazon that these are not the correct height. Sucks something so simple has to be so complicated with such crappy parts.

To bleed brakes, you have a person push the brake down, then you open the bleed until peddle goes down, then close the bleed and release brake. Repeat until no air bubbles and clean fluid in hose. Check resevour every 10 openings and add as needed.

I did the rears and had to unbolt the control arm, loosen brake line brackets. Driver side had to make sure not to damage the vent canister. The passenger side was another story. I had to cut & grind off the lower bolt. Then I purchased a 14mm x 77 bolt at Tractor Supply to replace the broken lower bolt. but it was worth it to replace the old leaking & rusted struts.

I've been having the same problem with my 03 honda crv. i have codes for all cylinders miss firing and a code for random miss fire, i've tried replacing coil packs and spark plugs ( cheap ones). and i'm still having miss fires and idle issue. do you think it's because i used cheap spark plugs? I just don't want to go out and buy those expensive ones and it not work.
@projectsbyj25
@projectsbyj25 Ай бұрын
i would just spend the money on the expensive parts and get it from the auto store. In that case if it doesnt work out, you can always return it to the store and get a refund.

Highly recommend the alternative method of going from the passenger wheel-well. Especially if you have a 1/2 impact. The water pump is easily accessible from here once the crank pulley is removed. A great time to replace the crank seal too. It’s nice to have a set of long boy ratcheting wrenches not required.

Honestly it’s just very cheap, has back up camera and Bluetooth capable for hooking up music from your phone to your car. Also as the option to boost audio sound. Really, it’s just a cheap overall unit that if you just want to Bluetooth your music. It does the job. Another plus is being able to completely turn off the screen and still have the stereo working, Helps me with driving at night cause then i won’t have glare from the illumination of the screen reflected off my glasses.

Did this help with idle vibrations in drive?
@projectsbyj25
@projectsbyj25 2 ай бұрын
Yes, replacing your mounts can help with that. As far as window caulking them, mine I have no issues but others have said they feel vibrations which would makes sense since you’re basically turning a mount into a solid piece.

I like your videos. I got a silver ‘04 crv with a standard transmission. I’ve had the clutch worked twice. Had a code earlier this year for IMRC solenoid replacement. I would like to do CV axles as my rear is leaking grease and bearings for sure. I get bad vibration at 50mph and it kind of goes away at 62mph. Any thoughts? I feel it all over the car hard to pin point. Not a tire issue imo. Good on ya for making videos on this gem of a Honda!
@projectsbyj25
@projectsbyj25 2 ай бұрын
Thanks, yeah I don’t see much crv repair videos on here and figure I just make videos myself. As far as the vibration, could very be the axles itself, check your motor mounts also. Check shocks and the bolts holding the sway bar and bushings. Double check all suspension components. Other than that, last I check would be the tires
