I had never seen Wayne’s crash, didn’t even know what track it was at - didn’t want to know. Now I know and feel bad all over again. Poor bastard struck down at the height of his career. I also understand that it took away Schwanz’s joy of racing as well. A sad day.

I am 50, started on RD350 LC2 31k back in 1992. Currently riding a 800cc Monster but purchased an RS125 unrestricted 33 hp 99-05 bike for the 2t joy... almost done with the restoration. I hope I can find a RS250 in the near future (prices are skyrocketed already :( ) Nothing beats the 2T feeling for me. I can't even watch the GP since the 2t ban. Watching these old races instead. They just fked all the technical sports for the viewers count. And what a sportsmanship at the finish line, when Doohan rises Luca"s hand. Well, good ol' times.

Always loved races from this circuit. Not just beautiful surroundings but a lovely flowing track (other than that chicane), and to me the bikes looked like fighter planes dogfighting as much as they looked like the greatest GP bikes of all time with some of the top riders of all time going at it. Thanks as always Mario, for these great posts from my youth!
