But one problem it's there, imagine if something going wrong or fire occurs, what insurance will cover your truck or for God sake another truck fire, homemade AC in that case will put you in jail, think about that!? Gasoline fuel is very sensitive on high temperature....

Couple questions. How many BTU is your air conditioner, does the air get back to your bunk easily? And how many watts is that generator? And will generator run all night with the gas that's in it

So in my case, I have a van 🚐 Can I run the generator in the back mounted to a hitch carrier and not have to worry about carbon monoxide or should I move the generator to the front of the van? 🚐 it’s a Ford Econoline E-150

Also having that heavy gas generator & ac in the cab unsecured is not a good idea , in an accident even the tissue paper will become a projectile & try to kill u , u can imagine what that generator can do if it flies towards u !

Is your air conditioner 5000 btu? ? If it is the hottest Las Vegas, is the temperature inside the truck cool? Or buy a bigger air conditioner

If your company doesn’t allow idle and doesn’t provide apu then you shouldn’t work for them. I would never do all this every time I am parked. I own my own truck and looking to see what people doing out there. Only reason I wanna have apu is not to save money on diesel that’s 3rd reason 2nd reason to sleep quite without noise and vibration from the truck. My 1st reason is so I don’t put too much wear on motor where it breaks down and cost me more to fix.

A portable AC unit will be a much easier setup. I put my Honda generator under the trailer and secure it around the landing gears with an external 3-gallon marine reservoir. I prefer the gasses to stay far away from my sleeper cab.
