Hey, Juneau is my home…since ‘83! Thanks for highlighting our beautiful little city. The Glacial Outburst Flood this year was devastating as over 50 homes were severely damaged. Last year, 2 houses collapsed into the river. Climate change is real! We own a Pleasure Way OnTour and park it in Seattle. We go south for multi-month road trips! Such a fun lifestyle!

@@davidthomson5183 Hello in Juneau! We absolutely love your beautiful city. So sorry to hear about the flooding and hope more awareness is raised around climate change and the impact on our environment and people! Sounds like you have a pretty awesome setup. @@mjmcinnes a little bit of both. 😊 It was about $500+ to rent a room that is pretty no frills. No windows, bunk beds, and you have to rent or bring your own bedding. We thought it would be a pretty fun adventure on the deck, and it was definitely that to say the least. 😅

I am looking into going with the TRD off road Tacoma and the 4 Wheel Camper Project M. It is, of course, signicantly lighter than a slide in camper. I am expecting to be able to keep the load of the camper and my gear when fully loaded to under 1000 lbs. I will be going off road to places similar to where you go. I am curious if you think I will be okay with the TRD off road stock, or do you think it will need modifications.
@AdventureOutThere
@AdventureOutThere Күн бұрын
Thanks for the question! With the Project M being so much lighter, you might want to give it a try with the stock suspension before you make any mods. Our Fleet is pretty heavy and we had to make mods before we installed it, and then more mods again after a couple of years. Stoked for your new setup! Happy trails!

When we have rented camper vans in the American Southwest, we got the sense that a tablecloth is the standardized signal for “camp occupied.” Not necessarily a disposable plastic one, but something inexpensive with a picnic tablecloth clamp on each corner to keep it there in the wind. Red and white checkered is classic!
@susan53226
@susan53226 Күн бұрын
Also, make sure the reservation date paperwork is on the post by your campsite. It’s still a great idea to take any belongings you care about with you! Not that people won’t move your picnic table to their camp as soon as you leave…. we’ve had to drag them back.

So weird on the bear spray! We traveled all thru Canada with our multiple cans of bear spray. Skagway to haines to haines junction in and out from Canada & USA with no problem with our bear spray! We also crossed with a liter of whiskey.... You are allowed 1 liter. But yes going through all those crossings was hectic knowing what you could and couldn't bring. Each crossing seemed different and skagway was the strictest for us. We also use OnX Hunt. We use the paid version and it has a Canada Map Layer.

@AdventureOutThere I know exactly what you mean, cell mates..haha, perfect, yup, we are in Colorado . Having the van allowed us to park in places we could never consider with our travel trailer , 1 night, we slept next to a creek outside of Silverton , about 6ft off the bank, hearing the water running and the light rain on the van, the smell of the rain breezing thru the van.. I haven't slept that good in a long time, and then packing up and driving a few hours, camping on a lake shore atop the grand mesa in western Colorado, it was a great week, the van makes moving around so convenient and easy.. I'm definitely interested in your shower setup. Maybe a van tour?.. I have a feeling I'll be building a van soon, and I'm excited 😊 🤗
