My spiritual journey has started I believe for the final time. I've been reading an English translation of the Qur'an (Abdel Haleem) and feel like God is now a strong and tangible presence in my life. My town doesn't have a mosque but I'm sure there are many Muslims here (though less than 1 million in Australia). I decided two days ago that I want to be Muslim, by the end of today I will have finished reading the Qur'an. I'm finding it challenging to talk to people I know because whenever I say I want to be Muslim they immediately bring up terrorism. It's frustrating but I am by nature a very diplomatic and kind person so am patient with them and try to speak the truth. I came across you on Science and nonduality.

As a Zionist I really appreciate your sufi teachings. Listening to your channel on the train puts me into a tranquil meditative state. The Jews have a long history in Canaan. The philistines (greek invaders) occupied that region in the 12 century which is the reason that during the British Mandate the region was called Palestine. The Palestinian arabs and the Israeli jews must remember to live peacefully with one another. Don't forget who started this war on the 7th of October. I think that anti Zionism ultimately originates from fear. What are your thoughts?

Thank you for your kind words about the Sufi teachings I share. Jews and Arabs all have a long history in Palestine, and I don't find that negating either community's history is fruitful. For example, for the last thousand years surely it has been the Palestinians living on the land, farming it, etc. Surely we are in agreement that Arabs and Jews must be granted the fullness of rights, dignity, and equality. Where we might respectfully disagree is the "who started it" conversation. Remember that the ethnic cleansing of Palestine already took place 75 years ago, and that according to most human rights organizations and even Israeli ones Palestinians live under an apartheid condition. So without supporting the actions of October 7th, and while certainly seeing Israel's response as genocidal and savage, I would see the roots of the condition in a fifty year occupation and apartheid that simply have to be addressed if there is to be hope for peaceful co-existence. Having said that, I have lived long enough to know that KZbin comments section are rarely the place for the most fruitful exchange. And with that, I wish you well and ask God to bless all the residents of this sacred and tortured land. Amin, Amen.

Salam & Ramadhan Kareem Mubarak Omid! I’m interested in the meaning of the salah. Such as “only Thee do we worship & only Thyn help we seek”. How do we navigate/implement this in life? I just had an appendectomy, and a surgeon did the work. So…how do I intend “Only God”, aside from what:)? Hope that makes sense.

salam and Ramadan Mubarak. The issue of the relationship between Divine will and human will is one that has taken up a lot more space that can be treated in a short KZbin comment. :-). Probably the most helpful answer is that of the need to harmonize our will with God, as in the "when you threw it was not you that threw but God that threw verse of the Qur'an." From Turkey to Arabia to Egypt or to any Islamic country which one , has taken a meaningful action against this genocide ? Theodor Herzl was an Atheist and most of the founders of Israel were not particularly religious at all. Initially, most Rabbis did not approve Zionism and even today the majority of Jews that are speaking out against the ideology today are Rabbis.

I agree with everything you say except for one thing...you say where to find people who are seeing things clearly by suggesting specific groups. We must move away from categorizing & go with how we feel. If you're discussing the genocide w a person who is influenced by zionist thinking, it will feel very frustrating. If you're expressing your views w people who are not influenced in that way, it will feel better. We find these people in every race, every culture & in both genders. I believe that to think otherwise is to be thinking too narrowly and are at risk of being influenced by the "Divide & Conquer" tactic. We all must think as broadly as possible these days, with the help of our emotional guidance system.
