3 years late here. My eyebrow went up when you said it “doesn’t shoot.” Groups under an inch (some brands were closer to half an inch) at 50 yards is not too shabby for a .22. Remember, it’s a $400 gun. If you shoot competitively, that many not be good enough for you, but I’m guessing that you know by now that no one is winning matches with $400 guns. Most of the guns I grew up with that we considered accurate .22s were closer to 2” guns at 50.

What height scope rings do you have on your CZ 457 AT-One?
@AimSmallMissSmall_TV12 күн бұрын
I believe low rings with 30 MOA base, otherwise you’d have to go medium rings if not high rings. I believe medium rings should work with a non-MOA rail.

Thanks for the honest review. "Overbuilt" is a great way to describe Tikkas. They're hard to top. I'd sort of half-talked myself into trying a different brand for a 17HMR but.. I think I'm just gonna roll with Tikka. Cant go wrong

You know I have a trigger pro 34 and consistently had issues when it gets too over 400 sometimes it takes a while sometimes it doesn’t hold, but I realize that it doesn’t need to be so hot things get to get cooked pretty well when I have mine at 3:50, so all I can say is that I have replaced the heat rod and that helped a lot I didn’t mess with anything else they sent me a fan but the fan looks fine so I’m not gonna mess with it and it’s awfully closed and could be dangerous to try the chickens brisket there day 50 hours and it came out fantastic. Love this thing. It’s a little more Than I thought when it comes to temperature as long as you have new pallets, you’re fine

Not all CCI ammo is the same. Just like all Eley is not the same. If you can find any CCI AR Tactical you should give that a try.

Use an MOA wind constant of 2 in wind calculation. If anyone here wants the formula I will post.
@AimSmallMissSmall_TV12 күн бұрын
Not sure what this means but if you’d like to share I am open to checking it out.
@charlesludwig917321 сағат бұрын
@@AimSmallMissSmall_TV here’s the formula: distance to target in yards divided by 100 times wind value in mph divided by MOA wind constant equals MOA of wind favor. For example, shooting standard velocity.22 LR at 100 yards, the cartridge has an MOA wind constant of 2. Now, having appraised the wind condition as a 3 mph crosswind, the formula is 100 divided by 100 equals 1 times 3 mph equals 3 divided by MOA wind constant of 2 equals 1.5 MOA of favor or 1.5 inches. Now since a 3 mph wind is almost impossible to appraise without the aid of smoke, it forces shooters to develop shooter/target analysis skill, plotting all shot calls and bullet strikes in a score book to discern shooter sight adjustment error for wind via the call/strike corollary. My perspective on this is as a US Distinguished Rifleman, American High Power Rifleman in Long-Range, and CMP-USAMU Military Rifle Instructor assisting the USAMU deliver SDM, TTT, and SAFS Training.

What I think weight sorting does is take a bunch of rounds loaded on several different machines and help you pinpoint different machine loads. The chances are that if they are loaded on the same machine they are exact or close to exactly the same. Also I weigh to 10,000ths of a gram....not grain. Also just like certain "batch" numbers are more accurate in your rifle, certain weights are more accurate. The main thing I notice is you get less fliers when you sort. It all depends on just how much points gained by this are needed towards your match score.
@AimSmallMissSmall_TV2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the input, I actually haven’t weighed ammo since the end of 2022, my scores maybe showing it. I am currently weighing for my match this weekend so we’ll see.

Btw, at first when I started it up with the new controller and it started smoking, I closed the lid and it was smoking like hell even out of the lid cracks. What happened was I closed it to soon within approximately 3-4 minutes. Leave the lid open for about 10 minutes, maybe a little less and all will be fine.

Hi guys, I just replaced my Pro 22 controller because I made the mistake of buying one of the generic ones on Amazon and that was a mistake. Now I have a Traeger but this new control did not have a P setting button and the temperature went up to 201 and backed down to 185 on smoke setting. All I had to do was raise the cover on the chimney (counterclockwise) to open until I fine tuned it into 165 on smoke. I hope this helps you.

Take the magazine well off, you can actually see the spring and makes life a whole lot easier, I must say being a gunsmith for near on 40 years this segment was great and demonstrated why we gunsmiths do a 4 year apprenticeship, you are dead lucky not to have cracked or broken the alluminium trigger housing by the use of that oversized punch, this was a great video of what and how not to do this job and all because people want to save $50 which is what i charge to swap and set new springs, trust me the way you went about doing this job, you got off very lucky.

The solution to this problem is actually quite simple: The trigger is set incorrectly (too light)! If you increase the trigger weight by about half a turn of the adjustment screw, this problem will probably be solved immediately. Just try it out!

very good vid, I used the vid to install my YODAVE spring, with some fiddling I got mine to 9-10 oz. I also have a wheeler trigger gauge, I've found out I have to test my triggers at the very end of the trigger and pull more downward, like firing a shot, Only way I could get reliable pull weight.

You probably realize this by now, but a .5" group, shot at 50 yards, is around 1 moa. Not "1/2 moa", as you state. Good video on how your rifle shoots though. Something hopefully most of your viewers know is that every rifle is different. Someone else's rifle may prefer something totally different. Also an eye opener on how ammo prices have changed for the better in the last 3 years. CCI std. velocity can be found all day long for $4.99 now. Most of the other ammo listed is also cheaper right now: Thankfully. As for your suggestions on which cheap ammo to practice with, I would definitely not use TAC 22, as you suggested. That ammo falls very short, in all of my rifles. That is ALL of them. I've actually had better luck with Federal Automatch. That is some ammo you can buy very cheaply, and shoot till your heart is content. It's easy to find too, at you local Wally world.
@AimSmallMissSmall_TV4 ай бұрын
Thanks for your feedback back and comments. You are correct on the MOA, I sometimes lose my mind while to the videos and miss the mistakes in editing, of course at the time of the video I may have not even given it any thought and not making the connection I don’t shoot at 100 yards. The TAC 22 is an interesting ammo, I’ll get 3 or 4 shots in a decent group and then one flyer sometimes inches away. For my rifles SK Standard + probably a better choice.

Don't discount the fliers. You are just lying to yourself and your viewers, if you do. Fliers indicate a major mechanical issue. You need to address that, to minimize the fliers. Don't just discount them. I see Josh also has the same issue. He tries to bandaid stuff by putting on better barrels, but that's a flawed way to look at things, and it's not fixing the issue.
@Eman30375 ай бұрын

That's not 17. Good shooting though. Here's the rules: 1 shot ONLY per egg - total of 20 eggs on this target you have to find them all 19 eggs are hidden in the grass that equal 1 point per egg. Max points on this challenge is 19 as the large center egg are for spotters only. All hits must be clean hits. If 1 round strikes two eggs you LOSE 1 POINT. If you have previously cleared an egg and counted that point, then you strike that egg shooting at another egg you do not count the first shot as a point and you still LOSE 1 POINT. If you hit a flower then an egg the point does not count Every egg must be attempted at least once. Looks like a pretty solid 15 to me. Also, you did not shoot at one egg. That could have been more deductions, in the big scheme of things. Not just the one point you lose for not hitting it. Probably the reason Eli says you need to shoot at each egg one time.
