Try removing the rear barrel insert from the stock on this rifle so the barrel free floats it may improve your results from what I've heard.

I did remove that probably about the time I did this video. The rifle shoots well with match ammo. I am very happy with the Tikka and is my backup rifle if my CZ fails during a match.

Heavy barrel .22LR, barrel whip? Naw. Harmonics?, likely. The more I've gone down the rabbit hole of this topic the more I try DIY remedies. After "torque tuning" the action screws, I run multiple brands of ammo to establish what shoots best with that particular unit. THEN I attach the "tuner". I've personally found that shaft or hub collars are viable barrel tuners AFTER determining which ammo your specific platform likes (for a 1/10th the cost of commercial units). And "tune" from there. Dial calipers are a must. Give it a try & save some $.

Thanks a lot. Unfortunately I can’t use a tuner and compete on the ARA Factory Class. By barrel whip I consider that harmonics, I hope they aren’t two different things. I may try a EC Tuner V2.

As always Brett a throughly intriguing video as you continue down this particular rabbit hole. I’m going to disagree with you just a bit but as I said before, this particular rifle has, imho, reached its limits. It’s not a CZ mtr or a CZ set in a specialty stock. It’s a “crossover” rifle with a medium weight barrel and factory stock. I understand the crossover bit meaning it’s a very accurate hunting rifle. At its best hunting but can hold it’s own when it needs to target shooting. You can see this when you shot the plate using Centre X. Regarding the feeding issue I have had the same problem on rare occasions but, in nearly every case it’s when I’m using the “American” method of bolt manipulation, by that I mean working the bolt hard and fast! Being ‘firm’ is by far the best way to go! As for the ‘take up’ (action) screw torque KZbinr Gunblue has a very interesting video on that very subject, but be warned, he does use common sense, which may be a bit old fashion but is solid information. By chance can you give us a link to the Gunblue video you mentioned? I briefly looked but could not find it. I think you are righ ton the Tikka but at least in my mind I can feel I have this shooting as good as it can. I am happy with the consistency of the groups as long as I shoot Center X. I do have 4 different center X lots I am looking forward to testing against each other.

I am going to disagree with you Clive, the T1X is more than capable and just as capable as the MTR. I have seen many 2500's fired with a T1X, seen 4 in a row once in a 6 card match, from my experience with several of both models the T1X has the edge in accuracy.

Some guy will come walking into a nrl22 match with a bone stock tikka with a little bit of foam taped to the stock as a cheek riser a little arken sh4 and just smoke everyone. Leaving the guys with the vudoo 360’s the rim x guys and everyone else just scratching their heads. lol More than capable little rifle

Have you tried the Pistol match? I think it's slower speed then the Pistol match special. I have not shot it. I just seen another shooter on FB shoot both. I think it was Day at the Range. Can't remember

I have when I did my ammo testing series with the Tikka I shot Pistol Match but my groups avg. was .50" at 50 yards. SK Standard + was slightly better @ .48" CCI SV also shot .48"

20” Barrel. I hopefully will be purchasing a T1x with a 16” next weekend. What are your thoughts between the two? Which do you prefer?
