My only problem with this is i have to calculate the bushing into to the measurements of the cut out. While with DIY solutions you can put the jig on the exact line of the cutout no need for any math to factor int your guide bushing in the measurements.

Is there any assembly/instruction manual? I found the leg.clamping system unable to completely hold the legs at either extreme. Using the sliding white supports the table is very stable but when the legs are folded down into the top I worry the legs might fall down out of the table top due to the inability to clamp the four leg clamps.
@Benchdogtools24 күн бұрын
There is a leg clip fitted on the table. Once you close the legs this clips into the leg which then holds it in place. If you want to tighten the cam leaver you can also do this you just might need to turn them first.

when it doesn't weigh over 30 kilos and when those clamps fit the legs so you can hinge a door, when it doesn't take up loads of space folded you might be close to the chestnut versatable which is sub 200 quid. ! and its more stable , versatile and lighter. it also fits through a doorway. I won't be buying anything else you make cos I bought your fence for the Festool battery table saw and it's a piece of s*^t.

Too bad you decided to exit from Europe, the custom fees and taxes are outrageous. I bought a parallel guide some time ago, and it's a superb product. Unfortunately there where some problems with the extrusion so you had to send for, for three times, some replacements part, and I had to pay custom fees each time. The parallel guide costed me 50% more than the original price...it's not worth it, even if the quality is outstanding
@benchdogs-toolsАй бұрын
You might be unclear about the fees associated with purchasing from the UK as an EU customer. When you order from a UK-based company, the 20% VAT charged in the UK is removed from your order total. However, upon receiving the item in your EU country, you will be required to pay your country's VAT, which can vary, with rates around 25% in some areas. In addition, there may be a courier handling fee of approximately €15 for processing your order. If customs duties apply, these can be around 5%, depending on the product. Therefore, the total added cost would not reach 50%. Even if we were still within the EU, you would still be liable for VAT. The total additional costs could be a maximum of 5% (for duties) plus the courier fee. It’s essential to recognise that not everyone in the UK wanted to leave the EU, and a broader understanding of these changes would be beneficial for all involved.
@panino04Ай бұрын
@@benchdogs-tools I got the right informations about the additional fees I had to pay both on your website and on the custom's website I visited before placing the order, I paid about € 157 for my order (130 for the goods and 27 for shipping) and € 51 to the courier for taxes and custom fees. Unfortunately the guide was not precise while using it to perform some narrow cuts so you sent me a pair of new brackets, and for that I had to pay around € 23 but that was not resolutive, so you sent me another set of extrusion and for that I had to pay another € 29. I understand the first € 51 I paid were for vat and custom fees and, as I said, I was prepared to pay them, but in conseguence of a problem with the goods I received I had to pay an extra of € 52 to solve it. I have to say the support I received from your team was outstanding, but the problems I encountered cost me 30% more than the initial order value....

I bought by regular style UJK ones last year. I used them once to test them out and haven't used them since due to the pain of trying to get my track back off the table. Worse still, I own Mafell tracks which means they're not compatible with UJK's rail clips or the magnetic alternatives I've seen. These look like a great solution!

@@ImLeeBeeTake a look at the other videos showing the table with extensions. It can accommodate an 8x4 sheet, and the main advantage is the precision you get with the rail hinge and the fence with stops. I need to see it in action to understand how everything works together as part of the system.
@ImLeeBeeАй бұрын
@@bradjones5266 Don't get me wrong, I understand that. I'm just thinking about how when a full sheet is raised that high, physically reaching across the whole length to make the cut could get difficult or dangerous. Can you answer.. how stable is it? I have the KREG table which is similar to this.. same sort of thin medal foldout brackets that hold the legs.. and it wobbles like crazy and worse, the little buttons that you push to unlock those and lock in place.. are horrible. I've had all 4 break off and now have to use screws in the holes to hold the legs open while I lift it in to position. A table like this.. really needs sturdy thick legs. IT is partly why the Festool version is so nice.. but way too expensive. Just a metal frame with a MDF top should not be more than $300 or so.
@benchdogs-toolsАй бұрын
If you level it to your floor, the table will be very sturdy. For $300, I'm sure there are Chinese-made tables out there that can fit your budget, so this table may not be the table for you with your budget.
@b3owu1fАй бұрын
@@benchdogs-tools For sure. Not trying to make it sound like your table is too expensive either. The Kreg for $500 was ok at best, even leveled it was still wobbly but works (still have it). The problem I have is with the fold up/stand up mechanisms. They are too weak for repeated use it seems. Maybe your table solves that issue, but I feel like the hardware of the legs and the folding mechanism are just too weak for long term use. I'd want more stout legs and a heavier hinge mechanism of some sort, at least based on my kreg table and a few others I've seen. Including the Festool one.
@b3owu1fАй бұрын
I'll add looking at your table more close up, you do seem to have a more sturdy set of legs. The thing metal brace that holds the legs when open still looks a bit thin, but I suspect that could be thickened if need be. The design looks better than Kreg and Festool though. So props to you for that. Being in the US would probably make it super expensive to ship from the UK though.

Ralph did you block me from commenting about the diamond shape dog/pin???? Because I cannot reply to your comment. That's not how a diamond pin works mate....the shape is a lead to a full diameter, this case 20mm. All you need to do is take one of your MK1 dogs and make diamond shape, leave a full round land, whatever 5mm, it doesn't matter it just needs to locate in the perf. That reduces the friction on one hole thus eliminating the canter leverage of trying to remove two perfectly sized dogs. You only need a handful of millimeters of protrusion into the perf top....all it's doing is locating, the full round dog does the rest. Then upon removal, once the full round portion of the diamond shape is out of the hole removing the guide rail is easy.

How can you tighten the dog up if the shape is not round without turning the guide dog in the hole, which would then lose accuracy with the consistent rotation of the dog in the hole? The theory of the shape would not work in this situation.
