Def trying this for my 2003 Panasonic camcorder. Trying to get a couple tapes onto my computer for my parents as a surprise while also trying to get into filming with it more often (its been sitting in a cardboard box inside a cam case since 2005).

This tutorial is a game changer!!! My first upload was a success however, my second upload has an echo throughout the entire video. The echo isn’t present on the camcorder, just the uploaded file on my laptop. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Unfortunately, I don't have the right plugs on my Sony camcorder. Is there another way to connect? At Euronics they can digitalize my tape for 10 Euros per cassect, which I think way too expensive. I've got many tapes.

I have only now seen your video contribution and as a former Hi8 Fimer I would like to say something about it. My Hi8 film equipment consisted of the very good Sony CCD V600E camera and the Sony EVS 9000 recorder as a player for the PC. The recorder had TBC on board and produced an excellent picture by eliminating the 2-line color replacement on the screen or PC. The video image was absolutely stable with no line jittering at the edges of the subject. That was a very good starting point for editing on the PC. The clips produced in this way still look good on large flat screens today. Of course, the Hi8 resolution of around 400 lines is a long way from HD. But in certain image sections the difference is not that serious. Today, of course, with 4K everything is cleaner and almost unnaturally sharp, almost unrealistic. Nevertheless, the analogue time had its charm in the high-end range.
